  1. Whatta great model! I need to order that body!
  2. I built this pre-paint by Revell a few years back when my wrist was in a cast. Just a BMF and detail paint job. The tri-five Chevy is so iconic, ya gotta have one!
  3. I agree! Besides, I build for the voices in my head.
  4. You hafta luv those "Mints"! My Hirohata Merc...
  5. My newest diecast, Corvette Stingray "Sideswipe" Concept
  6. Previously made from unobtainium, hopefully this run will be in styrene.
  7. This should be a hit!
  8. I'm not sure. Let me consult with my staff and get back to you.
  9. Russell I don't know how big that gap is you had to fix, but I do know that green putty can lack strength, and tends to dry slow, and has shrinkage issues. Thin plastic strips, superglued to one or more edges will sand smooth and form a clean edge. I have seen the late-model Camaro transformed into a T/A. If I come across any pics, I will post, if the builder(s) don't do so first. EDIT: Here, at this link... rows 3 & 4 (unless I add more pics before it) All pics in alphabetical order... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/model_car_shows/misc_model_contests/page71.html
  10. If someone has the talent and skill to build that Chevy pickup, then they have the skill and talent to do it right! It may not be "rat", but it is "unfinished". It's no longer always an issue of money, as I think many feel this "half-baked" look = "kewl!" Really want to stretch your skill... and show off your talent? Then finish the ###### thing!
  11. I hope this helps... at least for the power steering Q's:
  12. If you like, just copy & paste these speedometer pics on a Word page, shrink them down to size, and print them on photo paper. I found them by doing a Google Image search: I usually paste several copies of each gauge, each at a slightly different size... one of which should be sized correctly. VDO gauge: The same deal works for small stuff such as licence plates, etc. You may luck out, meaning if the speedo diameter happens to be 1/4", use the same size hole punch to cut out the image, and glue to the dash. EDIT: Sorry, the pics were moved to another Fotki folder. Just Google Image: "VW Beetle speedo".
  13. I just photographed an ACR at a car show. Can it help for ref pics? Bunch of pics at the links: http://public.fotki.com/JCole/car_shows/cruis-a-palooza--ke-1/page2.html
  14. By the look of the pic, it has a "Pay as you go" feature.
  15. Yeah, I can see that it's a shifter... err, make that shifters. That submarine running through the middle... iirc that may be a Lenco transmission(?), but a shifter for each gear? And what was that Olds 442 (from the eightees?) with two shifters? I never understood that.
  16. I need a sanding stick trimmed to a point. What would be the best way to trim it?
  17. Maybe if Revell sees that AMT/Round 2 can do it, they may be more receptive to doing likewise? Hope so.
  18. I never airbrushed Tamiya, but for brush cleaning, or slight bottle paint reduction, rubbing alcohol works fine for me.
  19. Looks good! I like the way it looks... lifted, radiused, all business.
  20. Jeez, Jeff! That is amazing detail! Did you scratch build that rear suspension?
  21. Not always an easy to see object in some photos...
  22. "Everyone has to feel good and everyone gets a trophy. Tra-la-la-la...everyone's happy" LoL Charlie! Maybe that should be the name for the "Heaps of praise for ME!" section?
  23. OK, my honest opinion... I LIKE them both! That color makes them pop out and slap your eyeballs!
  24. I will usually pass over the post if the model has “issues†so to speak. One thing that builders should give some thought to, when you post your newest build, be honest with yourself! If there are flaws, ignoring them won’t keep us from noticing them. If the builder is realistic, and says something like “yeah, I messed up the paint on the doorâ€, then there is no need for others to point it out. I would rather catch my own flaws, rather than leave it for others. On the other hand, if I did a crappy paint job, and say nothing, then it is fair game for polite criticism.
