  1. I'm busted on this one. Looks like a dumpling with wheels. Probably goes like one too.
  2. FREE DRINKS from scantily-clad cocktail waitress! I wuz there in the late-eightees, first day there, I was pawing through the phone book looking for hobby shops. I found one on Trop. Ave. When I got home, I called them to ask about a model I saw, bought it over the phone. I don't know if it is still there. Good luck, happy hunting! Oh, one more thing... FREE DRINKS from scantily-clad cocktail waitress!
  3. I believe you are correct Jim. It seems to be better in large scale. I have some 1/25 scale alloy wheels for an 80's vintage Jeep GW that were "printed". Sadly, it does have a grainy texture. I need to order the Jeep from RMR so I can try out those wheels. I do not know who printed them, got them from a source here on the board.
  4. Not everyone has access to a camera, or a photo hosing site, nor knowledgeable on the uploading process. I too like seeing photos, it sure helps (I strongly believe in the old addage "A picture is worth a thousand words").
  5. That is one fine Caddy! I have it but never opened. If it's a classic Caddy, I like it. That Healey looks more "involved" than I thought it would. I wouldn't mind building both.
  6. Gregg- I have a bunch of Mustang pics in my Fotki album, first page at link below: http://public.fotki.com/JCole/model_car_shows/misc_model_contests/page46.html Only thing is, they are not mine. I just like to collect photos of great looking models. BTW, they are listed alphabetically by title. Each page until this page link below should have ‘Stangs: http://public.fotki.com/JCole/model_car_shows/misc_model_contests/page50.html From pages 46, to page 50. Happy hunting.
  7. If I read your last paragraph correctly, you want to know how to do the black window surrounds on modern windows? Try Sharpie type permanant ink markers. make your lines on the inside of the glass. Follow the raised edge on the window. If there is no raised edge, mask out each edge. Perhaps try this first on a scrap window.
  8. Before you go any further, would you mind shipping that to Revell so they can use it for a master?! Man, I'd love to have a kit of it! Keep up the good work!
  9. Like all of your builds Tom, this one is stunning!
  10. Street legal prototype! Classy color scheme. Two thumbs up!
  11. "Excuse me, can you tell me which way to Tokyo?"
  12. "Zombie Gasser!" Sharp build!
  13. Heh heh! Unique Jeep mating rituals, now on the MCMB!
  14. It's 'just right'!
  15. Dave, are you going to let her go?
  16. "Look on the bright side! Your back yard is much more accessible now!"
  17. Odds are, your local library has computers you can use. Bring a pencil & paper, write down the vendors phone #, mailing address, and Item # of what you want. Also get the price and their shipping charge, but you can always get that over the phone. Then go get a Money Order for the exact amount (there will be a dollar or more transaction fee) at your local Post Office, or supermarket. Then sit back grinnin' like the proverbial Cheshire Cat waiting for the delivery man to show up!
  18. Apparently not as big as this person thought!
  19. I was inquiring in the "General" folder about the quality of the '58 Plymouth kit by AMT http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31346&st=0&p=312054&hl=58%20Plymouth&fromsearch=1&#entry312054 Thanks to some great advice and comments, I knew the car was some messed up as is from the box. While it seems there is several "issues" with the kit, Bill Geary really stressed the wrong line or profile. I cannot fix everything, but I can change the profile. I focused on the body line that starts in front of the rear fin, and goes across the rear quarter, across the door, across the front fender to the front. That rear quarter, like all the poorly shaped side trim, bows down at each end of the car. It seems like it should be level, at least in the mid section. Here is a pic of the AMT body with a steel rule resting on the door, note the light visible at each end between it and the car. I think the body needs to be kicked up in the back half. But first, the roof needs to be removed so the body can be flexed. Once that is cut, the front and the back part ways. Now to glue in some bracing to join the front and back... ...then glue the two halfs together, and clamp: Then I glued the roof back on. Next, I need to fix the rocker panel between the cut, and the rear wheel opening. I am sure there is more, I'm not sure. Some things I can fix, we will see. More to come... eventually.
