  1. Great video review! Usually I avoid these, but I am glad I watched this. Lost my previous version, so I am looking forward to this one.
  2. She is a thing of beauty.
  3. Looks great! A save is a save.
  4. Having to sell 900+ unbuilt kits because we were bankrupt and were losing the house. That hurt.
  5. If "crispness" of the mold is referring primarily to the side trim, I could easily make new trim from the Evergreen strips I already have. But I also think many of us who have built these over the years, have just sanded away the trim. I have a previous version. So I may buy this new issue, IF it has wide whites. Does it?
  6. No problem. All are welcome here.
  7. Craig wins the internet for today. I have made the "50 Shades... 2018 color chip chart" comparison as well. Cars of the late 50's, and on through the 70's had chrome, had color; had a style that cannot be matched by todays techno mechanical aero blobs.
  8. Slammed w/ wide whites. Beaut!
  9. Looks like I will be going for a "limo tint" on the windows (thus likely fabricating side windows) to hide the interior. This should still make a great shelf kustom. Edit: Looks like it may come with side glass. One less thing to fab. Like these:
  10. Well, you not only met your goals, but may have well surpassed them! 10+++.
  11. Now THIS is interesting! Finally a chance to make some kustom 60's vintage Cadillacs. Just wondering how bad the chassis & interiors are? Any ideas for donors? And lastly, when do these hit the shelves?
  12. What is currently on my bench. Walmart exclusive afaik. Bought from a collection for cheap. Pre-painted, but no clear means no gloss. Has two engines. I think he only charged me $20.
  13. Favorite would be a toss up between a '59, or a '60 Cadillac. Sittin' lowww. Space Shuttle optional
  14. Probably my favorite build to date:
  15. When I saw the German "Haunebu" saucer, I thought it was the same as this thing I built as a kid. But, apparently that is not so?
  16. Google made no reference to time frame, and therefore see no reason to consider their description referring to only a certain time frame. My point was, fact or not, "funny car" generally refers to the way the car looks. i.e: altered wheelbase. The Piranha doesn't seem to fit into that constraint. AMT boxed the car as a funny, and yet, there seems to be no rules as to what is, or what isn't. And I sure wouldn't count on what some guy in marketing model kits way back then chose for the box art. This all goes back to what the op insistence on the term.
  17. Hate to be the downer, but with the interest being generated between now and opening, the web site will likely crash.
  18. The car does not fit the traditional description of a funny car. AMT is / was a model company, not a dictionary. They may have called it a funny car, but lets refer to Google for a description of "funny car". In part: "Funny Car is a type of drag racing vehicle and a specific racing class in organized drag racing. Funny cars are characterized by having tilt-up fiberglass or carbon fiber automotive bodies over a custom-fabricated chassis, giving them an appearance vaguely approximating manufacturers' showroom models. They also have the engine placed in front of the driver, as opposed to dragsters, which place it behind the driver.[1] Funny car bodies typically reflect the models of newly available cars in the time period that the funny car was built. 19. Wooh! Some beautiful automotive wheeled sculptures there! What a sight those will be, going down the highway! Safe travels.
  20. Amazing how much the mid section of the Cyclone looks like a Plymouth Duster! Especially in the B pillar.
  21. I am curious, and so I ask... if this kit was not already "on the water"; in fact; not even yet molded for this reissue, do you think the new owner/management would bother with The Rommel's Rod? I realize it may be too early to tell, but I would like to think the only reason we will get the kit, is because they already have the kit. I don't see the Daniels creations as having much future. You?
  22. Yeah, Dennis, that is some nice magic you're working into it! Hope to see this one keep going. Q: are the wheels in the Brougham sized to work with other kit tires, for kustoms, etc?
  23. Xacto #11 blade, non sharp edge is the best way to go. But, there is also numerous saw blades out there. Back in the days of my youth, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, we would use a hot knife. They are still available (maybe?) and have a #11 blade attached to a plug in hot knife.
  24. Someone shared this post on a club Facebook page. I don't know any more about it. Hopefully, they are preparing to use molding machines here in the US for kits.
  25. I don't believe Round2 has ever sold figures separately. The whole point for the figures is to sell the kit. But then again, never say never, right?
