  1. Don't they look good in red?! Love the tires ('specially out back). Is that the Lindberg kit?
  2. Impressive! I had no idea that replacement vehicles had been donated. Looking forward to this as it progresses.
  3. Question possibly for discussion: in frequent storm areas such as Florida, why not bury the power lines? It's not a perfect solution; there is no perfect solution. But doesn't that seem like a more pratical idea than frequently replacing all those poles, and removing all that debris so they can once again run new lines down streets? Here in New England this subject was discussed after we were hit a few times with ice storms that broke trees and downed power lines.
  4. Don't forget pewter figures found in tourist shops...
  5. I guess not. At first I too was thinking "Predicta", but this must be what Harold was working on: http://wikicars.org/en/Packard_Predictor
  6. Jeez, sad to hear that Harold. That is devastating. Fire is scary stuff... at least take heart that you were not in physical harm. Now you need to cope with all the other stuff. I will re-read what is posted, as I wonder if you mentioned any insurance coverage. Hope you bounce back from this, man.
  7. VERY nice! The color scheme really works... nice wheel treatment too.
  8. John... nice Cuda, keeping good company!
  9. I like it. I don't care if it looks like something else. Sooner or later, everything looks like something else. This concept looks... like luxury touring to me.
  10. Model building as a hobby isn't just buying kits. A true hobbyist also stocks up on supplies such as paint. I have more paint than I will ever use, just like the kits. And like the kits, it takes time. I think if you really want to build a model you already have, you can find a way to buy a can of paint.
  11. When I read "Rat Roadster", that... was not what I expected to see. I was thinking "rat" as in overall style. Having said that, no complaints from me! Hope it's a 'standard' scale, as opposed to large. If there is some new parts tooled up, I don't see that as a budget breaker for Revell. Modified reissues are common fare for model companies.
  12. NICE! NICE! NICE! I want to build mine... just like that!
  13. Other than a few VW's...
  14. I go with "model"
  15. Mine must still be on the way...
  16. It's different; it's unusual; and it's nicely detailed!
  17. We see so many built models with the hood either not sitting down where it should be, or it slid out of position. True especially at model shows, when the photographer has a lot to do, and takes the pic with the hood sliding forward. Some kits have hoods with slight warps. Rare earth magnets come in a variety of sizes. I can get a pack of 100 magnets smaller than 1/8 for around $15. I plan on ordering some, and I bet there is even more that can be done with them.
  18. I already have the boxart for the Rampside!
  19. Revell currently has one, but it is of the '06 Concept car. A more current kit is supposedly on the way.
  20. Here is the two 1/25 scale die cast kits from the AG
  21. That engine bay in blue.... that is probably from a stunt mule. You could paint your engine bay blue. Or paint it green. Or orange. At one time or another, they probably had several of each! For the most part, EACH JUMP = a totaled car. The prop crews didn't bother to paint or detail anything that wasn't called for in the script to be viewed. If the hood wasn't to be opened, why would they care?
  22. To truly find the answers you seek… for accuracy of that DOH build, you must first jump an orange 1969 Dodge Charger off a ramp, catch at least 30 feet of air, then ace a perfect 4-point landing…. All while screaming “Yeee-HA! When you get discharged from the hospital, then let’s talk the need for accuracy.
  23. I'm guessing because he has a sense of humor, and having a little fun.
  24. That- is a great mod! Keep it going!
  25. Jim, this may be one of your best builds yet! That paint looks awesome.
