1950 Chevy Dually Shop Truck
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Dave. I did not have to widen the rear fenders. I did have to modify the frame to accommodate the inner rear wheels. -

1950 Chevy Dually Shop Truck

I had an old AMT 34 Ford truck kit that I build and I still had the hook and chain boom for the wrecker version that I'll be using on this Shop Truck. Should look pretty kewl. -
I built this kit some time back and didn't like how it turned out so I've pulled it about and started over. This time around it's going to be a Dually Shop Truck. I've painted the body with Rust-Oleum Flat Red Primer. Once that has dried I'll shoot it with some Rust-Oleum Satin Hunt Club Green. After it's nice an dry I'll wet sand spots to bring out the Flat Red Primer to look like and old worn out faded paint job. The rear of the truck has been modified to except the dual wheels. I did a little mockup before I shot the Flat Red Primer and I think it's looking pretty good so far.

Good looking 40 Coupe. I have this one in my stash. Nice color.
-
Thanks Jim. I think this kit needs all the help it can get.

I started this kit knowing there were issues with the tilt front end and the way it's hinged. I decided to cut the small section of the fenders off the body and attach them to the tilt front end.

Your Dad built a nice looking 29 Roadster. That red is so sweet & I love the old 409. It's nice having other hobbies. My 49 Chevy Pickup is about that color. -
