Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

I used Testors flat rubber on my engine hoses and it looks more brown. Is there a list someone has put together for best none custom colors (enamel, craft paint, etc) for hoses, belts, exhaust, aluminum, etc.

Finally got around to spraying another 3 coats of the Tamiya Clear on all the body parts. I got a say.....I'm am not impressed with this clear at all. The bottle doesn't say gloss so I guess clear is what I got. It's just not shining like I thought it would. Oh well.....it is what it is. I'll know next time to do a little more research to find something I can airbrush that has a gloss to it rather than just a clear finish. I'm on to the final assembly. Question: Think I can use some Meguiar's Liquid Wax on the Tamiya Clear??? -
Nice looking. The color fits right in for the year you were going for. Great detail work.

I shot 3 coats of Tamiya clear this morning and it sure doesn't look like it did much. I know it was covering because I could see it going on with each pass. I mixed it 50/50 with Lacquer thinner. Think I should wait a few days and spray it again??? -

Thank for the comment on the interior slasher. Out of town in Tennessee for a few days fellows so hopefully I can shoot some clear on the body early next week to see how this midnight blue turns out. I'm hoping your right about the clear making the color pop Steve. -

Tom, Thanks for the tip. I got a little paint on the cab, hood, and box. I was a little worried when I first started out on a test pad as the paint was just spitting blobs out. I just kept thinning the paint until it started to spray pretty good. I mixed a little black in with the midnight blue and now I'm thinking I should have left it straight midnight blue. Maybe once I clear coat it the color will appeal to me a little better. What do you guys think of this color? Give me the good, bad, and the ugly guys. -

I got everything washed and dried off so it was time to try the Tamiya Panel Line Accent. I had already scribed the panel lines the other day. Looks ok. I guess we'll see once it's all said and done. I'll be airbrushing the body later this afternoon. I decided to use the Ceramcoat Midnight Blue with a little black mixed in. Like my grand daddy use to say.....hope for the best and expect the worst. -

I just did a dry fit of the interior to the cab. Everything went together well but I seem to have a gap behind the seat and a bigger gap at the dash. Any idea's for anyone who has put this kit together? After playing around with it I'm thinking now maybe the windshield takes up that gap between the dash and the cab. I hadn't trial fitted the windshield since it is damaged. -

Yeah.....your probably right Tom. I'm looking at my damaged windshield again and I initially thought that I probably scratched it when I removed it from the bag but now I don't think so. I was polishing the windshield and it didn't help. I drug my fingernail across the area on the inside and outside and I cannot feel it. I think it's a factory defect with a bad area inside the plastic. Never seen this before. -

I got the interior finished this morning. I'm not sure I like it or not. The dark is Model Masters Flat Leather and depending on how the light hits it the paint look not fully covered or it kinda mimics leather. The lighter color is Tamiya XF-57 Buff. Maybe it would have came out better if i had put the darker color on the perimeter. Oh well.....it is what it is. -

Thanks guys. Got the bumpers and grille primed. Going to try out my new airbrush and see how it sprays the Testors flat gun metal at 50/50 thinned with lacquer thinner. I figured it's best to start on small parts in case something isn't right. Update, Bumpers & grille are primed and painted. Spraying the Testors at 50/50 thinned with lacquer thinner at 20 psi seem to work just fine. I'm a happy camper. -

I had some supplies come in and now I have a rolling chassis. Still have a little touch up to do and the decals to apply but it's not looking to bad. I tried my hand at weathering on the transmission and headers with some Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color. -
Just looking to have a good surface to paint.

Well.....I went to Hobby Lobby this morning when they opened at 9 trying to beat everyone. When I was there 3 days ago with the wife they had 3 kits on the shelf. I took one and tried to hide it behind one of the other kits at the end of the model kit area but that didn't work. They were all gone this morning. They were busy restocking and I ask one lady if they had any more kits to put on the shelf and she said she really has no idea what all is in the truck. She said it would take a couple days to empty the truck and stock the shelfs. Guess I'll go back in a couple days. $16 on sale, can't beat that. -

40% off once again. Online sale started last night and in store sale starts today. Going to pick up another 56 Foose pickup for $16.19 to use the rolling chassis on another project.

I had a bottle of the Dawn power dissolver setting in my cabinet in the garage for a few years so I'll give it a go and see what happens. Thanks. I tried the Dawn Power Dissolver and didn't have any luck. I'll try the bleach method tomorrow since the wife has some on hand.

Nice. What color paint did you use on the dash? -
I'm curious as well about the Foose chassis matting up to the 50 body as I'm going to have to buy another 56 kit due to the windshield being scatched on my current kit. Love the 50 Fords so looks like a great choice. Which Revell kit is the one you used the body?
