  1. Wonderful build, as all of your's are Tommy. I love group 5 racers and this one looks mighty good in this classic livery.
  2. To add...or not to add a driver, that is the question. To be answered later. Added leather color to rear spring gaiters per Gary's suggestion, and then the last bit of chassis work with fabrication of exhaust using 2.4mm styrene tubes and PE fasteners
  3. Always a risk when one winks at you...
  4. The instrument panel oozes realism... it positively looks full scale. So much to learn form your build techniques. Thank you for sharing your secrets!
  5. Chassis and engine stuff done. The chassis is only a 3 component set and the engine has 8 but the castings are pretty good. I just added some paint finish variations and mild weathering to give it some interest. Also I added some wiring and 3D printed (local supply) ignition coil and plug boots.
  6. Beautiful Camaro trio Rich. You have such a nice variety of builds that allow me to discover interesting kits I was not aware existed. Brings back nice memories of my days at the factory where we built the C/F 4's
  7. Wow, did not think that could be done with 2 mm (0,080 inch) rod without breaking it or it not maintaining the bend angle. Thank you professor Mark!
  8. Looks promising Matt. Any thoughts on what type of primer will work good over white metal?
  9. Might as well build the Hydra Coupe from scratch with your design and 3D printing skills. Would be a shame to waste the beautiful Rolls Royce on that if only 10% of it can be reused...
  10. Really coming together beautifully. Great chassis and the integration of the tubular structure (fancy for roll cage...) looks spot on. Look forward to see the engine work, with your detailing extraordinaire standards!
  11. A real shame Randy is shutting down. I was very active on it until I switched interest to road racing type cars and joined this forum. But still it is a piece of history disappearing. The option to join on Facebook is a no go for me. I know if I... or rather when I get hacked Zuckerberg won't lift a finger to help. So I joined Tom Birky's site. Looks wonderful. One life ends, one begins...
  12. Working only part time on this one... the busy life of this retiree gets in the way sometimes... I did make a few things. Dial decals leftover form a E-type project should be perfect for this. For once I ended up achieving the color match that was in my head (among other things...). Not bright red, not burgundy. Something in between... blood red!
  13. Love to see it done the old fashioned way, scratch building everything. A rare occurrence with all the 3D printed components made available to the hobbyist. This is fun to watch!
  14. Lots to do obviously but this no doubt will be a fun project. Are you planning any extras in terms of detailing or mostly out of box?
  15. We've all seen the magic you can do with your mate's printed bodies and no doubt you will succeed again... and this one will need the full TLC treatment.
  16. I switched from camera to hand held cell phone about 3 years ago. Resolution is good enough for a forum post and the editing can be done very quickly right on the phone. Currently using iPhone XR so certainly not the latest and greatest. Just make sure you have a good lighting setup.
  17. Fascinating fabrication work, replicating Chapman's innovative design. Strange that both Lotus and Ferrari introduced F1 cars with this unique engine position solution... the same year. Perhaps a bit of industrial espionage...
  18. Extraordinary build Francois. You have proven that with with immense talent, creativity, persistence, combined with 3D printing technology, the perfect model can be crafted. The best I have ever seen, period!
  19. Wonderful build John. The decision to go with printed wheels and grille add a lot of realism to this model. Great call.
  20. Why they put these screws in escapes me. Good riddance. Any modifications on integrating the rear body and doors? I seem to recall there are design issues there with that kit.
  21. Should have thought about that but too late now. Brushing some yellow over dark green...mission impossible.
  22. Beautifully done and presented David. Such a beautiful race car and a must have on the shelf. OK now, one done, two to go!
  23. Thank you guys, feedback much appreciated. Paint came out pretty good but the picture flatters it a bit. A bit of polishing will be needed to even out the surface gloss. No brush marks though, so that's a win.
