  1. Talking of racing Jaguars, I am now partly on my way to do acquire what's needed for Lightweight E-type build. The wheels are white metal from a maker in the UK but the key was finding a roof it is now reality thanks to Gary McNutt (Gramps). Many thanks to you Gary. On the lookout for a convertible E-type kit (that should be easy) and I will have the basics to build a LW
  2. You're right Ace, the winner #22 requires the full detail w engine. You're safe with #23 ?
  3. Impressive build with tons of detailing added in. Very real looking.
  4. Very nice build Gary. It's a good fit in your Le Mans stable.
  5. Recovered from a moment of laziness.... brake ducts done!
  6. Nice to see this one started Ace. Are you doing the #22 car with full engine detail (Andy's rules) or one of the other 3 ? Hope you keep posting, really interested to follow this one.
  7. While I'm working on the body I'm wondering how other builders have handled the lower body air inlets (just ahead of rear wheels). Just painted black or opened it up? Suggestions welcomed.
  8. Not a lot to do on this simple kit but I have been working even slower than usual these days. Scratch built the oil cooler and the "duct" on the body
  9. I caught up with your amazing build a few months ago. I'm still in awe of your skills and attention to detail. Looks full scale. As real looking as it gets.
  10. The court grants you an unconditional pardon.
  11. Not quite the same Bruce, but I have these early style Halibrands from HRM (resin) that might work out. Tire inner 17.2 mm, rim outer lip did 18 mm, so about 17 in at 1/25.
  12. Impeccable built Thomas. The finishes and decals produce a vibrant look. Does the Hasewaga kit come with an engine or curbside only?
  13. The best way I could summarize my impressions is that you could easily fool people into believing these are pictures of the real car. The combination of all your research, detailing, finishing and above all the careful weathering of all powertrain and chassis components add up to an incredibly lifelike model. Craftsmanship extraordinaire !!!
  14. It's a real beauty Rich, actually both of them are. I love the way you have played with different metal shades to represent the different alloys used. When talk of the best drivers come up it usually goes to Schumacher or Hamilton but they raced in 20 race seasons wheeling dominating, reliable and much safer cars. We tend to forget the greats like Clark racing when reliability was marginal and an accident likely resulted in death. In my book his 25 wins are worth 100 in today's F1. Thank you for honoring him with these beautiful builds.
  15. Outstanding Bruce, looking forward to the full set of photos under glass. The only mistake is the number...shoulda been a 12! ?
  16. Well done GT1 Jim. I built that kit recently and liked it too. Thank you for sharing a method for race weathering. Someday when I find the courage to try this I will refer to your work.
  17. Well done Ray. I'm still coping with the fact it is not a Cobra...lol FYI I use Tamiya 2mm tape for curves to help with trim painting. It's the white plastic tape that stretches a bit and can work around curves.
  18. Superb work Chang. Body mods, paint and detailing all look so rich. You paid dearly for the kit but all your work it really looks expensive! Message to Helmut: we'rre not happy with you...you bled the market dry man! ?
  19. That's a neat idea! Results are so lifelike.
  20. Looks mighty good to me Ray. Seems like you put this one together in just a few days. So much faster than I can handle yet with great quality.
  21. Another very nice one from your bench Paul. These current gen racers have such complicated paint schemes it must be quite the challenge to replicate. Well done!
  22. Wow... that is some paint & decal job. Actually it impossible to know for sure what you had to detail paint vs decals because it all integrates together in perfection.
  23. Congratulations Anders. A beautiful model with a unique color choice. I'm always unsure of what we will get with Italeri kits but this one looks like good quality.
  24. Thanks Daniel. The plastic lines would not be suitable for the high detail multi-material builds you do but for this application...quick and easy. I like your wheels, I think they are vintage Cox right? I did consider them but was unsure based on the small eBay pics so I decided to go ahead with a styrene solution. Pretty happy with the modified kit wheels I did.
