What did you see on the road today?

I always preferred pictures of the actual model. I felt they were trying to hide the ugliness of the model when they didn't. You don't use the police sketch artist drawing when you have a picture of the guy.

Mid 80's Grill for AMT Chevy Vans
Tabbysdaddy replied to Oldmopars's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'm interested in the 92-96 grill. I would get both if both were available, but not just this one. -
That grill is the same as the mid 80s pickup, on the real thing the only difference is the mounting tabs. There are two square turn signals, one for each side, mounted behind the grill. That being said, molded in or separate, I think either way is fine. The turn signal lens would only be slightly smaller than the headlight, and it wouldn't be painted as it's clear with an amber bulb.

Lol! Here I was thinking Oakland Raiders. Man I'm dense.

"Buy here, pay here" is a lot different than a dealership. -
What is the next option?
Tabbysdaddy replied to TarheelRick's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If I might point out, some people have more time than money so sanding a body isn't much of an issue. Also, sometimes they don't want to say "I don't have money for another kit." -
If it's one of a kind, wouldn't that be considered stock?

Revell Boss 302 questions
Tabbysdaddy replied to customline's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That would be true for most kits out there. Convertible wells in non convertible interiors, automatic transmissions with a stick shift, etc... -
Chevy S-10 grill 1982+

The kit has the headlights, and the buckets for behind them. -
Revell Boss 302 questions

That's the point of the skill level system, to warn that more advanced modeling techniques may be required. Such as removing unwanted details. -
I consider Hobby Lobby having mostly the same kits for a long time a good thing, because it gives me time to buy my more desirables and get my less desirables later. The one near me hasn't increased the prices on kits yet like others have said, and I picked these up. Still a few not quite must haves that I would like to get later.

I built a ship model once but it broke apart when I tried to jam it into the bottle.

1964 Comet Crash - Opinions?
Tabbysdaddy replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know here you can't get a seatbelt ticket in anything 72 and older because shoulder belts were optional until then. Not as great as it sounds when the officer hands you a speeding ticket and says "I wanted to just give you a seatbelt ticket but..." -
AMT to reissue the Alaskan Hauler Kenworth
Tabbysdaddy replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I hope it doesn't have a big hole in the windshield like the one pictured. -
Does anyone think being shipped in a hot metal container would have caused the warping? Since it gets hot enough to kill a human being I think it could warp plastic.

A modelers obituary thread
Tabbysdaddy replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not everyone wants a constant reminder of our mortality jammed down our throat. I have a doctor for that.
