Any Chance AMT Might Backdate The Dodge Van?
Tabbysdaddy replied to oldcarfan's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I would prefer it had an engine. -
I didn't know that not wanting to be harassed by the police because your tires stick out an inch is moronic. They're following the letter of the motor vehicle code. Stop buying them tires if it bothers you so much.
-
I heard it's so you can fit wider wheels and since they don't stick out past the fender lip at the top it doesn't fail inspection, for those that have inspections.

Today I yelled at some stupid old guy for like 20 minutes before I realized it was a mirror.

I think the shiny primer grey new cars are hilarious.

What Happened To The Monogram 1/32 Snap Kits?
Tabbysdaddy replied to oldcarfan's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I like the 1/32 kits, I pick them up when I see them. I had to buy the firetruck, which I have no interest in, to get the Malibu. I have the Mack with trailer and the Freightliner with trailer. I got these I think not too long ago. I built those two of the set. There's one rig I built as a kid I would like to have again, I think it's a Ford? -
I only have one 57 Chevy kit. It's a reissue of the Monogram I built as a kid. Molded in black though instead of red.

Finding AMT 72 C-10 and Blazer not to scale
Tabbysdaddy replied to 64SS350's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You can pick any kit and you'll have a bunch of people telling you all kinds of stuff that is wrong with it. -
Whatever it is, I'm sure I'll be disappointed.

I like the Hot Rod boxings.

I always preferred pictures of the actual model. I felt they were trying to hide the ugliness of the model when they didn't. You don't use the police sketch artist drawing when you have a picture of the guy.

Ouch.

Mid 80's Grill for AMT Chevy Vans
Tabbysdaddy replied to Oldmopars's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'm interested in the 92-96 grill. I would get both if both were available, but not just this one. -
That grill is the same as the mid 80s pickup, on the real thing the only difference is the mounting tabs. There are two square turn signals, one for each side, mounted behind the grill. That being said, molded in or separate, I think either way is fine. The turn signal lens would only be slightly smaller than the headlight, and it wouldn't be painted as it's clear with an amber bulb.

Lol! Here I was thinking Oakland Raiders. Man I'm dense.

"Buy here, pay here" is a lot different than a dealership. -
What is the next option?
Tabbysdaddy replied to TarheelRick's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If I might point out, some people have more time than money so sanding a body isn't much of an issue. Also, sometimes they don't want to say "I don't have money for another kit." -
If it's one of a kind, wouldn't that be considered stock?

Revell Boss 302 questions
Tabbysdaddy replied to customline's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That would be true for most kits out there. Convertible wells in non convertible interiors, automatic transmissions with a stick shift, etc... -
Chevy S-10 grill 1982+
Tabbysdaddy replied to Oldmopars's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The kit has the headlights, and the buckets for behind them.
