What would YOU like to see as a model
Tabbysdaddy replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's something I look for. I don't think I have any that are exact, but I hope to do some combining and scratching to make a few. I have a Cadillac to try and make my old '83 Buick Electra. The doors, roof and quarter panels are the same. -
It's lawful for me to have dark tinted windows because I'm allowed to protect myself from the sun. Some people get doctors notes.
-
I have the AMX with the metal parts. I didn't even know it was that desirable. Someone at the old SA forum traded it to me.
-
Common sense says that isn't marked.
-
Lol! That article repeats what I said. It might not be a police car. Call 911. Blah blah blah. It isn't a police car until I see it's a police car, and I don't have to stop and risk my life to find out.
-
Good advice. I'm a "wait for a marked to join in" kind of guy though.
-
Unmarked means I can't tell if it's a police car. It has no marks indicating that it is. Lights don't make it a police car, anyone can buy and install lights. The markings make it a police car. No markings no police car. Plenty of impersonators out there, just because it probably isn't doesn't mean I have to risk my life to find out. That's why they're required to be marked, for my safety. I don't see how I would end up in court, but thanks for the heads up.
-
Unmarked cars are not police cars. Police cars are required to be clearly marked. Those "shadow" ones look like old police cars with the stickers peeled off. If it isn't clearly marked then I have no choice but to believe you're some psycho that put lights on his car to take advantage of me.

Storing kits in (really) hot weather
Tabbysdaddy replied to Hawk312's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I keep my kits in a climate controlled environment. I built shelves in the living room and dining room and that's where they go. I have cathedral ceilings starting at nine feet so they're high enough to need a step ladder. -

1/25 AMT Surf Shark 1959 Cadillac Ambulance
Tabbysdaddy replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That's how business works. On the consumer side, at Home Depot I can get studs and plywood cheaper if I buy in quantity. I would suggest not stocking anything commonly available at big box stores or stocking few of those. Plenty of other kits they don't get. -
Chevrolet to GMC conversion..
Tabbysdaddy replied to michaelbaskett's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Any and all 88-98 GM trucks would be awesome. -

My 86 K5 Blazer was designated "station wagon" on the title. -
Deora - Reissue versus Original kit?
Tabbysdaddy replied to Ken McGuire's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I played around with one of these a while ago, but I wasn't sure if I liked it so it went back in the box. -
Mine looks fine, but I didn't take it out of the bag and check the fit.

Notifications that lead... nowhere?
Tabbysdaddy replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in How To Use This Board
I think that someone accidentally hits the reaction button and quickly undoes it, but it already triggered the notification. -
Where can I buy undamaged new kits
Tabbysdaddy replied to louie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Once the box has been sent to me it's my box. It doesn't belong to the USPS anymore, and I can do with it as I wish.
