1937 Ford Pickup By Revell

Coming along nicely Bob. -
Always room for improvement, but I like the way this one turned out. I did lose the passenger side mirror, and the drivers side rear window popped out when I was putting the frame and body together. Par for the course. I didn't take it back apart to put it back in. The decals gave me a problem as usual. There also was a set of hoses for the engine bay that I could see where they connected to the firewall, but there was no good connection point for the other end, I just left them out. But all in all a nice fun build.

Ok, just got to get the decals on and I'm calling it done. I lost the passenger side mirror and the driver's side rear window fell out while I was getting the frame and body together. Not going to take it back apart to put it back in. Typical stuff for me when I'm finishing a build. All in all I think it came out ok, but there's always room for improvement. I'll put up some photos under glass after I get the decals on.

Some great photos Mike. I'm seeing more deer cross my backyard here than in past years. My game cam picks them up at night. Also have a couple of resident armadillos hanging around. Plus a bunch of rabbits. -

Paint looks great from here Bob. I used the Tamiya acrylic thinned with the Mr. Hobby leveling thinner on my Duster and I didn't get the smooth glossy finish I thought I would. May be the weather, it's been bad humid here. -
Got the foil finished. Looks ok but could be much better, just didn't smooth out like I would like and there were places on the well wheels it would not stick, had to touch it up with some silver paint. Also put on a couple coats of Revive It floor poilsh, but it's not glossing up like it should, I'll probably put some more on it.

Looking good Bob. I like that blue. BTW, been checking out some of your youtube vids, nice work with those. -
Thanks Mike. Thank you Bob. Thanks Rusty.

I ordered some online, no hobby shops near me and HL doesn't carry it. I just painted my 71 Duster using it, check out my WIP. It sprays really good and it's easy to thin, but I can't tell much difference in it and the Createx other than it's not as thick and you don't have to be very precise with the thinning. I thought it would be more glossy, but it's not and I'm still going to use the Revive It floor gloss for the clear.

Been trying to get the body foiled. I got some new BMF and it seems to be better than the old I had. But I'm not very good putting it on. It's not perfect but I've got the side windows and the back window done. If I can get the front windshield area done it will be my first complete foil job. This body has some nice defined lines around the window areas which has helped a lot.

I used Tamiya x-15 light green thinned with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner. Came out ok I guess, but I thought it would have more gloss. I'll need to coat it with some Revive It floor polish. I think the interior came out good.

Looks great. Nice work.

Looking good Mike. That Createx red is nice. I'm trying out some Tamiya acrylics, but I'm not going to abandon Createx.

Fine looking 40 Ford Bob. Great job.

The 71 Cuda has the same wheels. I did them the same way. I went with a lime green on it and this green I'm going to put on the Duster is about the same. I did a tan interior on the Cuda, but I'm going to use this green with some black on the Duster interior.

Thanks Mike. Yes those are the kit wheels and tires. IMO the wheels were too bright, so I coated them with Testors dullcote and added a little black wash. Came out ok.
