Calling it done. Photos under glass. There were a few problems with this kit for me. The glass does not fit well. The front spindles are too small and fragile, I broke one trying to get the wheel on. The engine is a tight fit and I had to do some trimming on the mounts to get it in the bay. But it was a fun kit and turned out ok.

I have this kit, so I'll be watching closely how you approach it Bob. I'm sure you will get it done.

When I stopped building models about 25-30 years ago I was building only NASCAR models. I started the hobby back less than a year ago and so far I've only done muscle cars, drag cars, and hot rods. So thought it was time for a NASCAR. I picked up this generic Salvinos JR Dodge kit a few months ago and I'm ready to get started on it. Seems like a nice kit, are the chrome parts real metal? I have decals for the number 11 Buddy Baker 71 Dodge. It will be a few more days before I start the build but I did go ahead and get the body painted. Also after watching a video by Hpiguy showcasing the Salvinos JR number 9 Chase Elliot 2022 Chevy kit, I preordered the kit. It looks to be a really nice kit. All comments welcome, and thanks for looking.

Thanks Mike. That is Rustoleum Bright Coat. Thanks Bob.

Thanks Chaz.

Thanks. Yes, I followed your procedure using the floor polish but only put on about 5 coats. I used a hair dryer to set it between coats. I like the way it turned out. I've got to work on getting a better color coat.

I like the background in your photos, is that something you built? Thinking of trying to make something like that.

I had a problem getting the engine into the chassis this morning. I had to remove the trans cross member I had already installed and trim the back side of the motor mounts to get the headers to clear enough to squeeze it in. Then replaced the cross member after I got it in.

Thanks Bob. Thanks Carl. Thanks. Yes, you are right. Thanks.

It's a beauty. Great stance. Nice job.

Oh yeah, that's a cool looking wagon. Nice job.
-
The wagon is coming along nicely Bob. I like the idea with the side mirrors. I have left those mirrors off some builds because I hated fooling with them. What size hole/wire did you use?

Got the body painted. It's not perfect but it's ok. I don't try to get that show car paint job, mine are just for the shelf anyway. No clear on it yet.

I've got a Salvino's generic 71 Dodge NASCAR kit. Also have decals for the number 11 Buddy Baker Dodge. I think he drove a white one and a red one. From the photos I can find the red one looks to have blue wheels and interior (Petty blue?) It's hard to tell about the interior from the photos I can find, anyone know for sure if the interior was blue?

I like green. I did my 55 in green, but this one is a little different. I trying for the candy look.

'65 Nova Pro Street Update 11/14/22 Completed Chassis Photo Pg. 5
bluestringer replied to Plowboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looking good. The stance looks great. I just started a 66 Nova myself. -
Lots of Nova's being built lately so I decided to get in on it. This is the AMT 66 Nova. The kit gives mixed signals as to where it is a pro street or pro stock. The kit only has slicks for the rear but I found these treaded meats in my parts box so I'm going to make it street legal. Color will be Createx transparent green over a base of Rustoleum bright coat. All comments welcome, thanks for looking.
