Thanks Carl. Thank you. Thank you.

Fun kit. I think the front end sits too high, but I didn't try to get it any lower. I did get the rear slicks to tuck into the fenders a little more by shortening the rear axle. I cut as much as I could out without having to modify other components but they still stick out too far IMO.

Calling it done. Photos under glass.

Yes, you are correct. I knew it was something that was mismatched about the block and head. Memory getting bad in my old age.

Yep, Vega. I had a 73. Aluminum block and head, it warped if it got just a little hot. My cousin also had one that we stuck a 427 in and took to the local dragstrip, it was a mean little runner.

I really don't want to start over, ready to get it done and move on to something else. I've got a 66 Nova Pro Street I want to start on. I think I will try to hide the ugly with some of the decals.

Messed up the body. I forgot to glue on the front valance before I painted the body, so I painted it separate and tried gluing it on, I spilled glue all over the right front fender. I tried sanding and repainting the area but it didn't work out too good. Debating whether to put in the purple pond and start over or just let it be as is. Looks pretty bad.

Thanks Mike. It will be a while before I start on it, but I will keep that in mind. May do the same as you and just leave the hood off.

Engine is ready except getting it wired, and the headers will go on after it's installed in the frame. Some chassis pics, not through with it yet, it's been very fiddley. The rear housing is not attached, I will try to cut out a section on each side and move the wheels/tires inboard, but there's not much there to work with.

Put some clear on the body, Revive It floor polish. Working on the chassis and man is this thing fiddley. It looks like I can remove a small section of axle housing on each side and get the slicks in a little further, but probably not tucked all the way under.

Jay Howie..........White Room....

Yes, the Hendrix version is the one most recognized, although it was covered by several artist. Check out some of Jay Howie's other covers also.

Looks great. Love it. Nice work.

Thanks.

Yea, I don't have any that would work anyway. The slicks in the kit are pretty narrow, looks like I will have to shorten up the rear axle to get them further in. That may require some other modifications also. I'll work on it and see what I can come up with.

Really cool gasser. Love the green. I did a 57 Chevy gasser in green with the Gangreen decals last year.
