That is looking great. Really nice shine. How long are you waiting between coats of the Future?

Thanks Carl. That's a good idea, I'll see what I have that might work.

This thing is designed to have the rear slicks sticking out past the fenders. I don't care for that look so I going to try and fix that, and have them tucked up in the fender wells. Not sure what modifications I'll need to make yet.

Thanks Bob.

Thanks Mike. Thank you.

Calling it done, warts and all. Did not come out as planned, had a few set backs, but it's ok. I lost one of the front turn signal lights moving it to the photo spot, have not found it yet. And I noticed the rear bumper is a crooked, I'll need to fix that. I used the 67 Chevelle Pro Street frame, only took a little modification to fit under the 55 body, and the wheels and tires are from the Chevelle. I also used the BBC engine from the same kit. It fit ok but there was not enough room at the front of the engine bay to mount a fan without it hitting the radiator, so I flipped the radiator and added a electric fan to the front. I've seen this done in 1:1 and the fan has to be a pusher, not a puller. Paint is Createx Phat Halo Green.

Calling it done. Photos under glass.

Thanks Bob. Yea, I cut the peg off, and I removed a little bit of driveshaft trying to get it further back. I trimmed the bottom of the rad/bracket to get the hood to fit flush.

I was at Wally World in the big city today and noticed they had a small display of kits. I picked up the AMT GMC Jimmy. They had a few others I would like to have, but the SS check was getting thin. Our local Walmart is a small one and I've never seen kits in it.

I was 16 driving my Dad's 61 Chevy Impala with the 348 engine. I got stopped for loud mufflers. My dad had installed glass packs on it because at the time they were cheaper than regular mufflers. We lived in a small town and everyone knew everyone. It was a County Deputy that gave me the ticket. Of course my Dad knew the Sheriff and he took that ticket and headed to the Sheriff's office, that was last I seen it. I ask him about it a few days later and he said I took it to " Sheriff's name" and ask him, why the heck do they sell glass packs if they are against the law, the Sheriff tore up the ticket.

Made a trip to the big city Walmart today and was surprised they had a little display of kits. Picked up this one. They had a few others I would have liked, but the SS check was getting thin.

Looking good Bob.

Plan to get started on this soon. Went ahead and got the body painted. Createx Transparent Deep Red over a base coat of Rustoleum Metallic Silver.

Thanks Chaz. I would have liked it a little lower in the front to give a bit of forward rake, but couldn't get it any lower.

That's a tight engine bay in the front. I moved the engine as far back as I could and flipped the radiator, but still no room for a fan. I guess I could mount an electric on the front of the rad as a pusher. Or try relocating the rad a little more forward. Working on getting the interior done now. The 55 kit had no master brake cylinder, so I installed the booster and brake cylinder from the Chevelle kit. Gotta stop this thing at the end of the quarter.
