Hi guys been a long time since I posted a car build, here we go with a 1972 Pontiac Ventura. The first pic is of the Jimmy Fintstone resin body in it's raw state nothing done to it yet. The second pic is the engine as you can see I used several different kits to assemble it so far, the block, heads and oil pan are from the old 1969 firebird, the intake and fuel pump are from the newer Revell 68 firebird and the water pump and timing cover are from the 79 trans am kit. I would have liked to use the entire Revell engine but all I had were a few parts. Should be an interesting build, all comments welcome.

Wow that is a super clean build, well done.

I really like what you have so far, great detail work and lots scratch building, the early can am and sports cars are some of my favorite race cars.

Hi guys for now I am trying to post pic for a test to see if it works, just a test. I don't want to start a build thread unless I can get it to work.

I will be watching this one as I am a huge fire bird fan, I had a 1968 Ram air bird a long time ago, I really miss that car.

Well done nice engine details, did you use small beads for some of the fuel fittings?

I think you did some good work on this gasser over all, I would lift the rear.

Great idea, and I never new the Pacer was designed for this engine from the start.

I think your engine detail looks amazing very neat and clean. About your coil being backwards maybe the guy on the production line had a little hang over, I bet that kind of stuff happened a lot. Great work on your entire build so far.

Great work, I really like the paint and the details on the engine.

There is nothing about this gasser I don't like, the paint is amazing as are the decals, and I really like those head lights pretty cool.

Hi guys and girls time for an update, sorry it took so long but my airbrush hose broke which slowed me down a bit. I got some progress on the chassis done, installed both fuel tanks 1 of the battery boxes, both air tanks, front and rear suspension, still need to install lots more like the other battery box and cross member just to name a few. I am pleased with the way it looks so far for my first build and I am learning from it. Any and all comments welcome.

Thanks for the comments guys, this forum is great everybody is always so nice it really gets me motivated. I have the chassis assembled already I just have to think about the colors a little more.

Hello guys been a long time since I have posted any builds, time to correct that. This will be my first truck build ever so I will just try to do a decent clean build, we will see how it goes, I will have plenty of questions for all you truck guys. All comments and advice welcome. First 2 pics of the raw engine with a few hoses and wires added along with my scratch built double groove pulleys and alternator bracket, pic 3 and 4 have the basic engine painted gold and a few bits in flat and semi gloss black, last to pics I added the 2 fan belts a dark wash and just a hint of rust to the exhaust side of the turbo. I think the engine is pretty much done. 1. My first question, the directions say you can paint the chassis black is this ok or can I use another color, the cab will be red I think. 2. Is gold the correct color for this engine, yep to late now but I am curious.

So far looks pretty good, I think the carb is on it's side so if he rolls the car it will still run, lol.

Well done, your weathering is perfect, it's hard to tell it's not real.

So far I think it looks great, I like the aggressive stance.

Don't matter how old it is, if it looks this good.
