Agreed on the interior, but IIRC this was a commissioned build, so perhaps the interior choices were made by the customer. The blunt face of the car really shows why not all cars look better with the bumper removed (*edit* or thinned/recessed to the extreme), IMHO. I also think it was suggested this subject would lose some sales appeal due to the presence of Revell's existing very nice '65 Impala kit.

I didn't realize there was a Chevy bowtie-shaped base included with the original soap box derby car, so hopefully it will be included when it's reissued. Pic of original parts from some guy's eBay listing: -
The MPC '84 Toyota Supra would be a good candidate fro reissue, but it seems Round2 is on a roll with the Lesney/Matchbox-era reissues-- VW Scirocco, Sunbeam Tiger, now, the 280ZX Turbo...get ready for the VW Rabbit and Subaru B.R.A.T. next!

The Rupp Roadster? Early January is what I see at various online retailers for an arrival date.

Buy things based on how well they are made, not where. This definitely applies to machines which will be spinning small pieces of metal within millimeters of your fingers and face. Buy a Sherline, and save up and wait if you must.

Perfect, thank you. Here are a few more accessories/doo-dads/thing-a-ma-jigs found in both the AMT '64 Thunderbird hardtop and convertible kits: -

Thanks, Mark...I didn't even notice the "COMET" lettering on it until your comment. Any guess on this rear seat?: Or this (I suspect AMT _______ Thunderbird) interior tub with the number 50 molded into the underside?: *edit* I think it's AMT '64 Thunderbird Hardtop: -

Thanks, Mike. Is there supposed to be another piece which attaches to the backside of the parking meter's "head"?: -

The floor jack and A-frame/hoist are from the AMT '61 (and I think '62) Buick Special Wagon kit: Spear gun, tape recorder, parking meter, SCUBA gear, mini Kat from AMT, racing helmet, and a "mascot" (a racoon?), all found in the AMT '63 Ford Thunderbird hardtop kit (thanks to Mike W for the kit ID.): -
Hopefully the below didn't mean only the dirt bikes Round2 recently reissued in a Parts Pack, but maybe it did: Andy says: August 15, 2014 at 2:33 pm Are there any of the old go cart or motorcycle goodies still around? I know that they were issued with early 60’s kits but do not know if they were in the same molds . Is there anyway that we could see more parts packs from these older goodies? Reply JohnG says: August 15, 2014 at 3:19 pm Andy, we may have a couple things in hiding that we can bring out eventually. Can’t say when exactly. - See more at: http://www.collectormodel.com/round2-models/2224-whats-a-hanger-shot/#sthash.d8SrRYk8.jzhd6PE6.dpuf JohnG says: July 31, 2014 at 7:40 pm This is only a portion of the molds, but goes way beyond the latest catalog. Some tools were never sampled in this program. I can say without a doubt that the early 60’s Ford trucks are long gone, unfortunately. Another tip- don't use anything with a glossy sheen for plug wires, boots, heater hoses, nor vacuum lines. Battery cable insulation has a slight hint of gloss to their finish, but not a glossy shine. Detail Master offers lengths of scale heater hose, too: http://www.detailmaster.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=detailmaster&Product_Code=DM-1420

A what?? Never heard of those. I agree 100% with Harry on this one, and even better is to separate the just-cut edges of the decal over that panel gap just slightly. It's difficult to get the decal to cling to that small radius bend over the panel edge, and over time the ends of the decal tend to lift up in my experience. Cutting it again when the decal is dry isn't a great solution, either.

Someone here was hoping not too long ago for this one to be reissued: AMT 1043 - 1980 Datsun 280ZX Turbo - Late March

It has the lettered grille, as shown on the box art truck. This one was from 2004, and the Torq Thrust wheels seem to have appeared next in 2009 when the (still current) '65 Stepside was issued under the "TRUCKS" label. The earlier two versions of the '65 (molded in red, then the combo kit with the Hemi Hydro) still have the steel wheels and baby moons from what I can tell. Really, they are all pretty good, but I sought the CA Wheels version out for the wheel/tire and Fleetside bed combo.
-
That was my thought, too, and probably why nobody has tried it since.
-
How did this work? Were a few specific parts from the go cart or motorcycle included separately with each kit, as in not molded along with the parent kit's parts?
-
The 2004 California Wheels '64 Fleetside 2'n1 kit was the only time the large diameter Torq Thrust style wheels appeared together with the Fleetside bed. Granted, those wheels and tires have been included with the '65 Stepside ever since, but we all know the Fleetside bed looks way better. I wish Revell had released the '66 with these wheels and tires, but this is still one of Revell-Monogram's better efforts from the early '00s. Lots of test fitting and use of a slow-setting adhesive is required to get the three-piece hood properly assembled, then aligned with the nose of the truck, but the overall look is there. The inside bed simplification has been an issue for, well, forever when it comes to pickup beds. Maybe we should just be glad the forward bed wall isn't molded into the rear cab wall.
