Question about 70 Roadrunner
Casey replied to Nova-ss's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
^This. Here's a '70 with the fenders removed: -
No, "last two" as in the two most recently sold Revell Acura NSX full detail kits on eBay.
-
Perfect. Thank you, Bob.
-
Those old soft-ish, made in Japan tires from the Jeep Honcho, 1/16 Funny Cars/Top Fuel dragsters, and others are gone for good, so with new wheels to go with these tires, the Honcho kit is ready for reissue. I'm sure they could be made to work with a few other 1/25 Revell and 1/24 Monogram off-road vehicle kits, too. I'm guessing they simply feel they can get more bang for their buck investing in an aggressive, aftermarket style tire than a narrow, stock type tire.
-
To clarify, did you measure the steel wheels, or the chrome plated wheel covers?
-
Which makes their decision to keep the '67 Olds Cutlass 442 and '66 Chevelle SS396 under the Lindberg label even more confusing IMHO.
-
The last two Revell full detail Acura NSX kits on eBay were both factory sealed. One sold for $5.99 and the other $12.00.

No, it's from an eBay listing. Why not try posting in the Wanted section? -

Question about 70 Roadrunner
Casey replied to Nova-ss's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, it did, but they weren't all that impressive to be honest. The dust trail part was decent, but the bird at the front was a one color with no detail...copyright issue with Warner Bros. I believe: -
There's a N.O.S. tube on eBay right now, still in the blister pack:

The Revell 1/24 scale kit is a nice starting point if you are willing to accept the limitations of the 30+ year old 1/24 Monogram '70 GTX base kit. When Revell updated the GTX kit a decade plus ago, they added an all new platform style interior with nicely detailed, separate door panels, a bench seat, and a Tuff wheel. It was very nice update on an older, but well done kit. Here are some (not all that great) pics of the interior to show what can be done: I can't recall if the Pistol Grip shifter was new or improved, too, but it's nicely done: Close up of newly tooled grille: -

I think this is the one Mark mentioned above, and here's a (not great) view of the decal sheet: -

I bought a Sherline 4000 off eBay a few years ago for $400 or so, and it was money well spent. If you want accuracy, precision, and safety, buy one. Tool bits aren't that expensive, nor is material if you're working with aluminum or brass tube/rod. Check your local craigslist/Kijiji, too. You'll probably come up with things you can turn on the lathe which never came to mind previously, and the quality of the finished parts will speak for themselves.

Naw, the pic of the tires () is all that matters. Thanks for posting the pics, Chuck.

The 1/32 '65 Mustang fastback kit is coming back, too, in early 2017.
-
I would almost guarantee they will, along with the double 'pup' trailer set and Ford LN plow & spreader kits, too. My guess is the below box art version. The kit (AMT 1039/06) is specifically called out as an R685ST.
-
I have to say the American 200-S wheels are very, very nicely done. A little bit more "pinch" at the outer end of each spoke would make them near perfect, but considering the previously available 40+ year old options found in various and assorted kits, it's a gift to have all four available in one kit. The rear wheels drop right into the Rat Roaster (maybe used on the '29/'30 Ford Roadster/Coupe kits, too?) rear tires without issue, too.

Were these Firestone (cheater?) slicks included in other kits previously?

You're right, the '66 came standard with 15" wheels/tires, with 16" being optional. Interesting that Revell is (intentionally?) being coy with the model year, though they do mention production ran from '66-'77 on the instruction sheet.
-
These are supposed to be 14" tires, correct?

Round2 added some info and images regarding the work which has been done to the Flying Wedge kit last month on their Collector Model blog here: http://www.collectormodel.com/amt/3151-amts-flying-wedge-is-set-to-take-off-again/

What's sad is you have chosen to be uninformed by not utilizing the resources available to you. http://www.chipfoose.com/ws_display.asp?filter=Blog_Detail&item_id={883767C3-4512-498F-9A6F-E6EC8198FE14} "... the winners are Foose's iconic 1956 Ford F100 Pickup & 1948 "Eldorod" Cadillac. Both vehicles will be released by Revell as all new model kits in late 2016..." Now, I grant you the F-100 is a bit late in arriving, but...:
