  1. A four-door on the box, but a two-door inside the box? Am I seeing that correctly?
  2. This is Model Cars Magazine, a forum where we come to discuss all things model related. I can't answer why 1:1 vehicles are the only other subject allowed in this section, but the General section header states: "For general model car hobby or 1:1 automotive related topics ONLY" Looking at Casey's original post: "I just wanted to start what has been one of my favorite threads on airplane modeling forums. It’s not meant to brag or prove has the biggest modeling budget; I just like to see what other people are buying..." Combined with the tags he used, I don't think it's unreasonable to conclude he was asking for others to share their model related finds. To me, that's what this topic is about, and it's irrelevant if the O.P. is no longer active on a daily basis. He posted a legitimate topic for discussion, and people clearly like to share what they recently acquired considering the length of this topic. Keeping threads on topic when they start drifting or someone posts something to disrupt the conversation (as happened recently) is something a moderator is supposed to do. The Off Topic section was created long after Casey created this post, so there was no place for off topic posts until sometime in 2012. I don't recall exactly when Harry added the new General sub-title, but it was most likely the same time the off-topic section was added. If people want to come to a model car forum to discuss the new puppy they got, a new bicycle, new glasses, a nose job-- whatever else that isn't model or 1:1 automotive related, there is a place to do exactly that, the Off Topic section. Here's Harry's post announcing the new Off Topic section and a clarification of what should be posted in the General section: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75023&hl=categories I agree this topic should remain about sharing your model related acquisitions, as I think the O.P. intended, so please, let's move on and keep that in mind.
  3. That's what I get for assuming you're their best customer.
  4. You know you're a good customer when you've earned a free t-shirt. I'm tempted to pick up (pun intended) one of those Nissan Sunnys myself.
  5. Sorry, there are no members with that name.
  6. And a toilet seat, a ladder, a new job interview, etc. We have an Off-Topic section for stuff like that now, a section which didn't exist when Casey created this post. Yesterday, a member decided to ignite the Chevy vs. Ford vs. Mopar debate, so sometimes it's helpful to post a reminder of why the topic was originally posted, and what the O.P. was wanting to discuss. Yes, 1:1 auto related stuff is allowed in Gen Disc, but first and foremost this is Model Cars Magazine forum, and given the O.P.'s intent, I don't think such a refocusing is out of line in any way. Moderate: to guide a discussion or direct a meeting that involves a group of people Gregg has entrusted me with the ability to make those decisions on behalf of the forum and the membership here as a whole. If you feel you can do better, please, contact Gregg and Harry to volunteer. People are always saying they could do things better, but very few are willing to give up their time to back up their words. I'd love to see someone else volunteer to moderate and have been waiting for months for such a change, but as far as I know nobody has been wiling to step up.
  7. Yes, one kit. See here, please: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71634
  8. We seem to be drifting away from discussing the question at hand, so maybe there's not much left to add.
  9. Let's get back to discussing Rob's comment, please.
  10. Thank you very much, Gary. Maybe Keith Marks will offer the stock "C" stripes?:
  11. There's no need to do that at this point. Rob wants to discuss something, and it's a legitimate topic for discussion, so provided we continue to do just that it should remain open.
  12. That's what so exceptional about Rob's argument-- it's not even the replies which are posted, but rather the lack of replies which don't even exist that are being used as an example of why this forum is represented by a bunch of elitist jerks. A few people are projecting their psychological needs upon the forum membership as a whole, and when their needs aren't met, they fail to realize the problem arises from themselves. It's always easier to blame someone else than to take time to figure out a solution. If someone doesn't comment on someone's work, the only logical conclusion must be the people who aren't commenting are rude, elitist jerks, not that the person's work might be of poor quality, not of interest to those who viewed the post, not all that interesting, etc. This place isn't perfect, and there are many different personalities here, too, which makes things interesting and at times, difficult, but using sensationalistic tactics to project a small groups's opinion of a larger group as fact is not a good way to change things for the better IMHO. I think if it would be more productive if those dissatisfied club members came here and tried to figure out why they are dissatisfied, and hopefully find a solution which makes then enjoy visiting here once again. Maybe there is no solution, I don't think any of us can answer for them, but I do know the large majority of the membership here is more interested in having fellow MCM members who enjoy spending time here, just like them.
  13. Looks like Time Machine Resin (the ebay seller mentioned above) makes it.
  14. Please see the updated post title, and let's all try to keep this topic model related, as I think the O.P. intended.
  15. Here's a good place to start, Fred: http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1971PlymouthDealershipDataBook-09.shtml
  16. I think James is correct. What other series of kits from Revell has spawned a two distinct versions as modified versions of an earlier kit based on the same design work? There's a limited body to consider if we're talking coupe/sedan/wagon/pickup variants only, since almost all muscle and sports car had only one variant in real life, that eliminates the bulk of Revell's lineup. '48 Fords? Nope. Tri-Five Chevies? Not when we rule out any CA Wheels-type modified reissues which almost always differ by the inclusion of new wheels, tires and decals only. '66 Chevelle/El Camino? No, just one version of each was released. Maybe the fact that Revell provided early test shots of the '50 Olds sedan to Tom Coolidge to allow him to get a jump start on mastering a resin '50 Olds Sedan (fastback) body was a pretty good indicator they had no plans to release a second, distinct version of the Coupe themselves.
  17. That scoop was never offered from the factory on a Duster of any year, only Demons and Dart Sports.
  18. Thanks for the pics, Dennis. If you click on the Settings tab (mouse over your account image to the left of the orange "Cart" at the top right of your PB page), then click "Account", you can then check the "IMG code" box which will give you an easy to copy and paste link to post images on forums.
  19. I was expecting Journey, man. Congrats, Lee. Make sure you get some of those Plumber's shirts form Duluth Trading Co. with the tail, alright?
  20. I think that'd be great if you're willing, Ron.
  21. Absolutely beautiful work, David.
  22. That's gorgeous.
  23. It is an entry level kit, and extremely basic:
