Has that Revell Crown Victoria come out yet?
Casey replied to English Jules's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Because 93.4% of the people who end up buying the kit will do so because it's a police car, not because it's a specific make and model of police car. Might they garner some extra sales from hardcore police car builders if they release the most recent CV? Probably, but probably not enough to make them think twice about doing it. -
1/25 Resin Mini-Bike in the works
Casey replied to 1/24DragAndStreetCars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
More info about existing bikes here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56433&page=1#entry724066 Long story short-- I wouldn't bother. There are plenty of other things in demand which are not available which would be a better use of your time and effort IMHO. -

That was a pic of the last reissue, the Lightning Rod version, not the current kit, and posted for clarification of which wheels were included. If someone would be kind enough to please take and post some pics of the just-reissued kit, it would be much appreciated.

Could we see a few pics of the tires, pretty please? Maybe even a full look at what's inside? -

Here's a partial look at the Aoshima version:

All the Monogram kits have the wrinkles going the same direction, so they only look correct on one side of the vehicle. Probably best to avoid those. AMT did several styles and brands, just depends upon how much wrinkle is right for you, and the width you're looking for:

Are the custom wheels the mesh/cross-lace wheels from the Lightning Bolt version?

Has anyone purchased this kit yet?

1/25 Revell Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon 2'n'1
Casey replied to Matt T.'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My guess? The police option will not be part of this first issue as the second building option. The "Streetburner" sub-labelled kits seem to trend more toward stock vehicles with some additional wheels, tires, engine parts, etc. to make a slightly modified street machine-ish second version. Hard to tell what will happen, though, given Revell's inconsistency with their various sub-labels-- Streetburner, Special Edition, Car Show, etc. -
It has not been mentioned for reissue during the first quarter of 2015.

Question about my old kits.
Casey replied to 3gear's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You could also contact a local New Jersey club or there's always craigslist. I know on the Milwaukee area cl there's always an ad running from someone looking to buy kits. -
Are the "GT" nameplate and swagon molded with the grille? IIRC, the nameplate location changed to the center of the grille in '75 when the Liftback was added to the lineup, and I think you'll need the Aoshima version for that specific detail...and if you want an LB.

I split the '57 Del Rio Ranch Wagon specific posts and moved them into a new post since there's quite a bit interest in discussing this particular kit, so please feel free to start a new topic for any other kit on this list which doesn't already have it's own dedicated topic.

Casey replied to 3gear's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Search on eBay for the kits you have, then click the "Completed item" option in the left-hand column to see what they actually sold for and their specific condition. eBay is a pretty good indicator of what each kit sells for, and it's tough to beat a worldwide audience. -
I think the 1/25 Revell Datsun 510's engine would be a better choice, but might look a tad small in the 1/24 engine bay...unless you graft in some/most of the 510's engine bay, too.

Don't believe the lies-- the top two are not "The Best Car." The Hasegawa kit is pretty good, though the underside is a bit ho-hum and the engine detail is very minimal. Here's the underside of the liftback version of the Aoshima kit: Not that great, unless you like huge hole-and-peg assembly for the strut to control arm joint, struts which look like they never made it past the rudimentary design stage, and a rear suspension which shows its roots as a motorized toy. Basically, they look very good as they're sitting on the shelves, but they lose some appeal when/if you pick them up and turn them over.

Have you turned on "Compatibility View"? FWIW, I don't think the browser you're suing should affect your ability to copy and paste image links here. As I mentioned in reply to Ben's image link posting issue, you don't need to use the Full Editor feature to add image links, and I wouldn't even recommend it.
