Can we get a pic of the wheels, pretty please? -
Customer Service at Moebius Models
Casey replied to Dave Metzner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It doesn't sound like they've ignored it at all, having replied to your initial e-mail. A prompt reply is always a good thing, but sending you the missing parts and a simple apology would be even better, and likely be all that is necessary in this situation. I can understand from a quality control standpoint why they might want to look over the kit and see what the damage was (and in turn, how they might be able to prevent it from happening again), but it wouldn't take much for them to offer to pay for the return shipping if that is their thinking. -
The rear wheels have a very small (1"/25mm or so?) lip showing, whereas the front wheels do not, so yes, they are not the same front and rear, as Roger said: I don't think any Foose-labeled kit Revell has released is 100% true to the 1:1 car it represents, whether intentional or not, so l look at them as reissues with new wheels and tires, and sometimes, as in this case, new valve covers and an air cleaner Now, if a kit of the Impostor is in the works...

I want to build some racing seats. 1:12 scale
Casey replied to Kaleb's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'll take a pic of them in the next few days, but I suspect the Ferrari seats are not what you're looking for. This is about the best pic I could find of the 1/12 Skyline with the racing/lightweight bucket seat(s?), but it's probably close to what you have in mind?: -
Moebius tire melting? True?
Casey replied to Jon Cole's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That's fine. I'd just like to see and read the experience of the person who built it and what s/he used, if possible. -
Neat find, Stian. I'm not even sure which auto manufacturer made a Floride, though.

Link to the post, please? -
Send either Harry or myself a PM if you'd like one of your posts deleted, or as Roger suggested (and as you already did) edit the post, and ideally the post title to "DELETE" or similar, and it will be deleted.

How well does it work on Testor's Flat Black paint, David? That seems to be the ultimate test for any paint stripper.

I want to build some racing seats. 1:12 scale
Casey replied to Kaleb's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
(At least) one of the Fujimi 1/12 Nissan Skyline kit includes a racing bucket seat, but those kits are neither cheap nor easy to find as a junker/built up, so that may not be a reasonable option. I have a set of seats from the Monogram 1/12 Ferrari Testarossa kit, but they aren't really a lightweight racing type seat, so probably no help there, either. -
Body fit issues Need input..
Casey replied to slusher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Place the body shell on something flat, like a glass desk top or a countertop, and visually verify the rocker panels both touch the flat surface along their entire length. If the body shell passes that test, move onto jb's suggestion of checking the interior-to-body fit. -
Revell 1/24 1970 Challenger T/A
Casey replied to jaydar's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The two chin spoilers are molded as one with the front valence panel, but the section of the valence panel rearward of the spoilers in missing on the kit part. Compare the kit's valence to the image below and you'll see the missing section: You really can't see the missing section with the two chin spoilers in place, so it doesn't have to be done, but if you're removing the (optional) front spoilers, it should be corrected. -

Do you have pics of the actual model? Or will it be a virtual design?

As long as it doesn't get personal, and people discuss Perry's products and service, we'll keep it open for discussion.

1969 RS SS 1/12 grille. any out there?
Casey replied to kagnew's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
What is the thinnest, width-wise, any one section can be? According to my quick calculations based on a 7" headlight diameter, the horizontal bars in each headlight door insert would be .1", so .00833" in 1/12 scale. -
What does it look like? Pics would be good.

Perry's Resin is still operating AFAICT. Perry's has a page on facebook, so maybe try to contact him there?

That would be awesome if someone made 1/12 scale 15" Minilite wheels. I recall Randy Derr(?) built a very nice 1/12 '69 Penske Camaro close to twenty years ago, and I think some of the parts he made for the car were featured in various SAE articles on detailing, but I don't think any of the parts he created were offered to the public. Forum member Stump/Greg Armour made some 1/12 Minilites (or maybe another brand) for his Tamiya 240Z project, but I think they were four-lug wheels, and I'm not sure if he offered them for sale: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18121&hl=%2B112+%2Bdatsun I honestly don't think the RS/SS grille will ever be made, due to the complexity of its design. The headlight door grilles would need to be done a photoetched pieces, so that alone would add a lot of cost: -
Trouble Posting Photos with Photobucket?
Casey replied to hooknladderno1's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Why did you stop doing it this way, David? I only use the image icon/url copy and paste method when I grab an image url off the web. If it's already in my PB album or someone else's, I will copy and paste the "[img}..." link every time, all the time -
I think this kit uses many of the same parts from the Sedan Delivery kit, so expect similar content. Round2's web page for the kit doesn't boast of any major additions nor upgrades, so other than the art print and larger box, I wouldn't expect more than a nice decal sheet and clean parts. http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/1940-ford-coupe

Revell Mooneyes Dragster Race Team (eventually)
Casey replied to jbwelda's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
No, it should be posted in the Model Cars: Under Glass section when completed: "Post your finished (pau) model cars here..." If becomes a diorama before it's completed, it should/will be moved to the Diorama section. -
I'm not so sure that's a problem anymore. I sometimes switch between IP Board and IP Board mobile, when logging on on my Windows phone or via the PC/Mac, without any issues. I recall two years ago or so some members had issues when switching, but it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, at least in my recent experience.
