I find I rarely use the coarse razor saw blade I have, and instead use the fine tooth deep and shallower blades almost exclusively. Another thing I wish I would've bought sooner are the photoetched saw blades which have the same tang size as the Xacto #11 blades, but are much narrower than the razor saw's blades:

Hmmm, I moved this post http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64079 to the Model Trucks: OTW section, and the attachments are working fine, so maybe it has something to do with the type of file exension for each image?

Does it matter if you primer parts
Casey replied to my80malibu's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Which mold rubber are you using? I doubt you will have issues, but remember that the mold rubber will capture even the finest of details, so if the primer finish has an orange peel texture, so will your molds, and eventually, the copied parts. It's always a good idea to polish your masters and get them as smooth as possible, regardless if they are primed, painted, or bare plastic. Ideally, all masters would be bare plastic, but sometimes that just can't be. -
Photo Etch - Aftermarket Special Decals
Casey replied to hooterville75's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think it's easier to do it the opposite way- decided which kit(s) you want to build, then see what's available for them. I don't know of a complete p/e list anywhere, but Model Car Garage seems to have the biggest product range, but they mostly deal in American kit subjects. I bet there are literally thousands of aftermarket decals, too. I bet Slixx alone has produced close to 500 different sheets. -
That's correct, and that was the post/poster I was referring to. I did a test last night, making a new post, uploading an image via the attachment feature, then moving the post to another section, and the image was still viewable. Just now I did the same thing, and moved it to the new Model Trucks P/V/SUV- Under Glass section, and it can't be viewed, so it is a problem with the "new" sections. The Model Trucks - Pickups, Vans, SUVs, etc.- Under Glass does not allow you to use the attachment feature, so maybe that need to be added as a feature of those "new" sections, Harry?

80 Ford F ?
Casey replied to Grzegorz's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Info source for that? As Brian said, Centurion is the company which custom built and modified the Ford shown above (as well as Chevy and Dodge, too), essentially stretching them. Kind of...There was a Mexican-market Ramcharger type vehicle built from '99-'01, but it was a two-door: -
Another member had the same issue. I would suggest PMing Dave Ambrose as he's on the tech side of the MCM Forum.

So What does Revell Have up Their Sleeves?
Casey replied to tabsscale1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hmmm, I see the Toledo NNL is October 6th, a few days before Revell's planned announcement date. This could be interesting. -

What Happened to my Post?
Casey replied to raildogg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
See here how to find your post, Richard: http://www.modelcars...hl=+moved +post Regarding your post, the subject was both a question (99% of which, if about something specific, should be posted in the Q&A section, as Skip noted) and was a product already covered in an existing multi-page thread. If anyone has a question regarding what happened to a post they made, and they can't locate it themselves using the method in the link above, please send me a PM instead of posting a question on the forum asking where it is. Thank you. -
shelby mustang 1/12 scale after market
Casey replied to gridjockey's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That's true. Almost all modern wheels are high positive offset, versus the older zero or negative offset ("deep dish") wheels, making it difficult (less believable?) to use older wheels on newer vehicles, or vice-versa. -

Michaels 50% off coupon!
Casey replied to Miserable Soul's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I stopped by a local Michael's store to see if they had anything new model-wise, and saw a Revell snap Ferrari Enzo, an AMT 2011(?) Camaro Convertible, the Revell Ed Roth '56 Ford, and the MPC Dodge Monaco "Roscoe's Car" kits. -
Aurora VooDoo Vega build updated 9/18/2012
Casey replied to ratnasty's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looks good, Chuck. Are you planning to fill those windshield mounting pin notches? -

Tower Hobbies now has an image of the AMT '75 Gremlin X kit up, and it looks to be the same box art as the original, which was posted earlier in this thread: No sure if this will be a (close to?) straight re-packaging of the '76 kit in the "flat" box with the Art Series print, but my guess would be yes, minus the M&H slicks. It's supposed to arrive in late November.

I was going to ask about that one, too, as I recall the scratchbuilt Watanabe wheels you made for it. Hopefully that build will get back on your workbench soon.

Reviving old threads- please identify
Casey replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bold by me...and I agree. I understand Skip's intent (at least I think I do), and it would be a courtesy to add an "I know this is an old topic, but..." along with the new reply, but I don't think it's discourteous in any way if the "bumper" chooses to simply reply. Old topics, new topics, it doesn't really matter IMHO. There will always be people who are confused. -
What kit would have these wheels?
Casey replied to GMP440's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't recall ever seeing those in a kit, sorry.
