Like the Mopar '10 Challenger?: On the subject of top-of-the-line models vs. lower-line versions, I think what Revell has been doing this for a loooong time. Most people don't want a '69 Camaro Sport Coupe, a '79 Mustang 2.8L notchback coupe, nor a '10 Challanger SE, so I doubt we'll see the lesser trim levels, especially with the Challenger possibly getting updated within the next few years.

Wow, they've come a long way since Pong.

Round2 recognizes a kit they can profit from, they hold the licensing rights, and the tooling is still in good shape- why not reissue it again? Let's not forget that kits which have movie or TV tie-ins are marketable, to both model builders and fans of the movie or TV show...and DOH re-runs are always viewable, so that means a whole new additional genration of viewers and potential customers. Yes, the kit stinks, but I don't think the marketing plan for this re-issue involves multiple purchases by skilled, adult modelers. Most in that group bought the kit in '80, remembered how poor it is, and won't be fooled again.

A local TM has the Commando, Ford C-cab, AMT (orange truck) snowplow, lots of 1/32 Lindberg '51 Chevies (and a few other Lindy 1/32 kits), the Moon Mixer and (I think) Meter Cheater. It's tough to beat $10.00 for a sealed kit, provided you like the subject matter.

ugliest or worst fitting kit you ever built

Sadly, one of my all-time favorite 1:1 vehicles is also my most frustrating build to date: -
I wasn't sure as some of the decal appear to be cracked, but that might have been some artificial patina. At any rate, it looks great. I've got to get one of these someday.

Just when you thought it couldn't get worse (or better, if you're a DOH fan)...another version, this time inside a collector's tin. http://www.round2models.com/models/mpc/general-lee-tin

Trivia Time! (i.e., help me I.D. some parts, please)
Casey replied to Casey's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the help, folks. I've got a few more pieces: A) Dual blister windshield, I'm guessing from an early Corvette kit?: Camaro SS grille from AMT or MPC '71-'73?: C) '67 or '68 AMT or MPC Mustang?: D) Tonneau cover and front valence from early Vette?: E) Clear hood and T-top panels from a 1/20th Vette kit, probably MPC?: F) Might this be a Chevy Blue Flame six from an early Vette kit, too? -
Love the sketched swagon. I've got this one on the to do pile along with another '77 GT, as I built one as a (semi-)replica of my second car, a '77 GT liftback. It's a shame we never got the smiley bumpers past '75 stateside.

There was also this 1/25 '67 Camaro SS convertible body, which I'm assuming is an MPC piece?: I found this SS hood, too, which may be AMT or MPC...but it fits very well: -

9) Unknown street rod/hot rod chassis. Looks like a straight six and appears to be AMT or MPC: -
I picked up a bunch of parts this weekend, and while sorting them found some intersting and/or unkown parts which I could use some help identifying. 1) Unknown hood: 2) Convertable top, possibly for the MPC Jeepster/Commando?: 3) Scoops/blisters?: 4) Front valance panel?: 5) Rear window louvers, possibly from a Revell '70s car (Monza, etc.): 6) Rear camper shell for an El Camino, possibly the 1/32-ish Lindberg kit? It's way too small to be 1/25 scale: 7) Front bumpers from '75-'77 MPC Camaros?: 8) These are definitley Monogram parts, as the wheel parts fit their Goodyear Rally GT tires...Poison Pinto maybe? I'm hoping the avocado color is the tip-off:

What, no fender portholes? I love the Pontiac version that was never produced, too.

Iam looking for a grill and wheel in resin
Casey replied to Mudpit602's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
It's odd that an upscale SS would have those base model steel wheels, but the box art does show 'em. Unfortunately it also has the earlier single headlamp grille, not the later aero style grille. -
I visited Model Empire's open house after not having attended for a few years, and boy was I glad I did. I picked up at least six gallon size Zipoloc bags full of parts, and I still have the last two to go through. So far I've found almost two '66 Malibu Street Rats, an original MPC '67 Camaro pace car 'vert body, at least one 1/25 Revell '69 Firebird, lots of Corvette parts, a built up 1/16 Porsche 928 for $1.00, chrome sprues for the MPC '72, '78, and '79 Dodge pickups, Badman parts, a Fred Cady Sunoco '69 Cmaro decal sheet, and more. I'll try to post some pics later.

IIRC, the other Stude pickup SJS offered was a Champ, but I'm not sure on the year...'60-'64 maybe? It had the same nose as the Lark and was much like this one: SJS really had some great stuff in their catalog. Another case of "should've bought it while they were still in business".

Revell Kit Announcement at today's Hobby Show
Casey replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
A new 1/12 scale kit? Good. From Revell? Better... A New Mustang? Ugh. Total disappointment IMHO, but I will survive. I suppose a big scale Ford has been overdue from Revell since the Chevies have had their moment in the sun for quite a while now, and the newer Mustangs have quite a following, so it makes some sense. It will be interesting to see the price on this kit when it hits the shelves. -
There are no kits of Mopar F-body wagons, and no Aspens period, only Volares. You'll need to convert the MPC '77 Volare Road Runner kit and that'll take some work.

Don't forget about the Otaki 1/12 Mustang kit, too:

How do you delete a double post?
Casey replied to 1320wayne's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you just posted recently there should be a "Delete" button still there, so you can use that instead. If the post is too old, the delete button will be gone. If the delete button is gone, click the "Edit" button at the bottom of your post. When the editing screen pops up, select "Use Full Editor" at the bottom of the dialog box. There will be a "Topic Moderation" bar (in grey) at the bottom of the window, and from the dropdown menu you can select "Delete Post". Then you get a second window which pops up and asks you to confirm that you want to delete the post. ...the delete feature isn't working now (or maybe anymore?), as I just tried to do it on one of my posts...hmmmmm
