  1. This is a few years old, Shane, but might be worth a try: http://themadmodeller.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=link&action=display&thread=2021&page=1
  2. It appears the website is closed: http://escort500xl.hostrocket.com/ Are you looking for the Arctic Cat sled and the snowplow from the MPC Jeepster?
  3. ...more cowbell?
  4. In my opinion, the 5-slot wheels which come in the Monogram '66 Malibu SS "Street Rat" kit are the best, like so: The kit:
  5. Check out the Hot Wheels "G Machines". They are closer to 1:50 scale, but have huge diameter (20"-24") wheels which may work for a 1/43 scale model. Here are a few examples, but they came in Kustoms, Rat Rods, muscelcars, etc:
  6. Assuming these are all 1/16th scale parts (and many appear to be Revell 1/16th scale Funny Car parts), which kits included the five numbered pieces? I'm guessing numbers 1 and 2 go together to form an injector scoop, but they look alot like the custom scoop in Monogram's 1/24th scale '70 T/A kit:
  7. Ouch. Get well soon, Dave.
  8. It's looking great. It looks like you've used Testors Metalizers for most of the engine parts, which I am a huge fan of. You've got just enough aftermarket detailing stuff on the car to be accurate and realistic, but not so nuch that it's over-accessorized. The checkerboard seat fabric is a great way to add some visual punch, too.
  9. Looking at pics of an original 1/8th scale Monogram Big Deuce and the recent Big Tub re-issue, it appears both come with the whitewall bias-ply tires. Are tires are the same in both kits?: PC88Y: Big Tub re-issue: I'm not a fan of the Big Tub body at all, so I'm considering picking up one of these instead, but I would like to know if either of the following kits includes the whitewall tires: Actually, any pics or info regarding the wheel and tire options included in any of the "Big" series kits would be great. Am I correct in assuming the Big T was the only kit to include the American 200-S "Daisy" mag wheels, like so?: How 'bout the BFG tires shown above with the 200-S wheels? Which kits included those tires? Which type of tires were included in the '77 issue of the '32 Ford Street Rod version, like so?: Also, do the newer two Deuce kits include the 4-into-1 exhaust headers as shown on the highboy in his pic?:
  10. Uptown Automotive makes the W/T grille: CLICK HERE
  11. The title says it all- which part, parts, or conversion would you most like to see available in resin? It can be a kit part, a part no company has ever offered in scale, a modified version of an existing part, conversion parts to modify an existing kit, etc.
  12. Tray calling Lighthouse or A Train Hobbies and ask them if they carry either Plastruct or Evergreen stryene products.
  13. Next time tell us it turned out exactly the way you hoped it would. These trucks have great lines, and I think you did great job on the headlights and tube grille. I've seen so many Stull-style tube grilles, but they have so many tubes it kills the look. Your grille has just the right balance of bars and negative space, IMHO- restraint worked very well on this grille.
  14. That is pretty funny.
  15. Did you cement the rear valence panel to the body before painting? I always grumble when I have to fit those two parts together as the contact areas are not so good. Looking good in Hemi Orange.
  16. Just saw this on eBay. Doh!
  17. This would make the perfect display piece to go along with the completed model: http://cgi.ebay.com/NHRA-Helmet-AL-GRAEBER-Vintage-Funny-Car-Race-Worn-RARE_W0QQitemZ220434989373QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Racing_Fan_Shop?hash=item3352f3013d
  18. How close to stock can the Revell Dick Landy '68 Charger kit be built? basically, I am wanting to combine some of the stock '69 Charger R/T parts I have (Magnum 500 wheels, interior, etc.) with a '68 Charger, without buying the current '68 for all of the redundant stock and racing parts. I'm just not sure what the Landy version actually contains.
  19. I think anything smaller than 1/24th or 1/25th scale is considered small scale, and anything larger is considered big scale.
  20. Isn't that a played out (like the term played out is )? I saw Kendra doing that with her Escalade on Girls Next Door a few years ago and didn't think it was very smart.
  21. Kevin, I see Perry's Resin does (or at least did) offer a set of resin-cast Holman & Moody stock car wheels and tires in 1/16th scale: http://www.perrysresin.com/catalog.htm HTH
  22. Yep, maybe a re-pop of the ex-MPC (now AMT) '84 GMC 4x4's suspension would be a popular seller, especially so if it was made to fit the Revell '73-'86 Chevy pickup kits with their horrible leaf-spring-and-straight-axle front suspension.
