  1. Interesting. I think the grille opening is the Camaro's strongest design element, but I could do without the eggcrate texture. I like that the slit/opening in the header panel has been filled in or left off in this version, though. White cars always look good, too.
  2. Out of curiosity, what is TDR's maximum printable size? Are there different size printers available?
  3. It was featured in Hot Rod magazine a few years ago, too: IIRC, they drove the van to Bonneville, made a few passes, and drove it home.

    VW Pickup

Clean paint, crisp details, and beautiful overall look. Very nice work.
  5. A "Completed Items" search on eBay will give you a rough idea of what any kit sells for, and two complete sealed kits recently sold for about $22.00, so an incomplete, open kit is probably worth half that.
  6. Yep, it's called Furious Fuschia. Looks a lot like FM3 to me.
  7. I'm guessing the O.P. has to do his painting indoors, perhaps inside and apartment, and lacquers with lots of fumes are not an option, even if decanted.
  8. I think Keith Marks might be your best hope.
  9. I'd like to hear some opinions and experiences regarding the application of water-slide decals before applying clear coats. I know it depends upon what is used for the clear coat, but let's hear about what you've done and used, both successfully and unsuccessfully.
  10. Make sure the resin piece is very clean before you do anything. To join styrene (kit plastic) and resin, use a cyanoacrylate (CA) type superglue. I would recommend you pick up the gap-filling type super glue and an accelerator (Zip Kicker is one brand), too.
  11. You can find a printable online coupon for either JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels every week, so you can print as many as you'd like.
  12. Is it a snap-together kit, like the one in the attached pic? If so, it's 1/16th scale.
  13. To view the 40% off coupon, CLICK HERE And remember they're closed Sundays.
  14. Those gnomes are super-cool! The top, not so much. Talk about bulky-looking tops, here's the poster child. Maybe someone thought a '58 T-bird style roof would mate well with a '60 Chevy? Squared and rounded do not mix well, kiddies.
  15. The guy from Friends? Looks like you picked up some nice stuff judging by the last picture. Trade offers flooding your inbox in three, two, one... Thanks for sharing the pics.
  16. Mark, you're talking about this one, correct?:
  17. You paid for that? Hopefully the nose comes of semi-cleanly and this one can be saved. Another reason to stock up on those $7.00 AMT '71 Charger R/Ts at swap meets.
  18. So you spray on the 3M adhesive, then, while the adhesive is still wet, you cover it with primer?
  19. ...a resin caster goes out of business? Is it common for other casters/companies to purchase the closing company's molds and masters? I'm sure it's up the the owner what to do with the stuff, but if he/she closes shop, are the masters returned to those who supplied them, if they're not created by the owner him/herself? I was paging through a 1996 issue of SAE and saw an ad for SJS Details Studebaker pickup, and had to wonder what ever become of the molds for some of his stuff. I mailed away (remmeber when people did that?) for SJS's catalog and my goodness there was some cool stuff inside- Stude pickups, a Nash wrecker, the ice cream truck, a '50s cargo box, and so on. Maybe Art can answer this, but whatever became of AAM's Olds 442 W-30 hood? I bought one of those while building a '70 Olds Rallye 350 and it was a very nicely done piece.
  20. Are these beds made from the old AAM molds? I was just paging through a '96 issue of SAE and saw an announcemnet that All American Models had cast a Dodge shortbox for use with the MPC Lil Red and Warlock kits.
  21. I'm guessing it's based on the Revell 1/16th Chevy 4x4 pickup body, at least from the rear edge of the front doors forward. Nice work, Santiago.
  22. Don't forget the Big Tub:
  23. I like the leaned-forward B-pillars, but I think adding a more complimentary angle at the rear of the truck (i.e. tailgate) would make it look even better. Ditto for the windshield angle and the nose of the truck, whatever you decide to do up front. The Vette rear body is different, but if you're using GT-40 stuff on the rest of the truck, why not use the GT-40 rear body section? I love the sectioning you gave the truck, especially going through the hood. The stock hoods are way too tall for a rod/custom. I started on a very similar '55 years ago when I bought the Monogram kit, and your pics reminded me why mine didn't get too far- the fenders, left stock, look massive and ruin the thinning/chopping/sectioning work which has been done on the rest of the body. I couldn't come up with a good way to decrease the massiveness of the are between the front fenders in the grille area, either, since the fenders didn't look right with the bottom few inches removed and the wheel arches moved upwards.
  24. www.chrometechusa.com Bob does excellent work.
