  1. Me, too. It's my favorite color on the Mopar F-bodies: I own a '77 Aspen wagon so I am a bit partial to F-bodies, but I like the "spoilered and decaled" mid-to-late '70s cars, and the Aspen R/T and Volare RR certainly fit that bill.
  2. Harry is exactly right- I just upgraded to IE8 and the reply box blockage is gone. *poof* You can update to IE8 free at Microsoft's 'site.
  3. I never built that kit, but have built a few (very few) other Revell kits of that vintage, so you can expect simplified details, below average parts fit, and two-piece tires (maybe they chnaged that bythe time this kit was issued). Revell kits of that era weren't all that great IMHO, but with a lot of work they can be good looking built models.
  4. The AMT '64-1/2 Mustang kit also has a manual trans, though it's probably a 3-speed. Hard to say since it's not all that accurate and lacks any detail other than the side cover. I'm thinking the AMT '55 CHevy has a manual trans, too. I'll know in a few days for sure...
  5. Is the engine from the MPC '69 Charger?
  6. Consider your post on page one, in particular, the last sentence: "Yesterday I tried to make a small change to my sig line, and I had the same results. I ended up having to settle for just plain text Merry Christmas to us, eh? An explanation from the powers that be would be nice." You come to a forum for which you pay nothing, get to discuss a hobby of yours with fellow model builders, get to make connections and friends, then complain because Gregg didn't expalain the changes to you? Isn't that the definition of "selfish"? As stated above, having the ability to block signatures is a very useful feature on forums, and having them limited to maximum numbber of characters and/or pic size is again a good thing. If your sig line and the info it contains is so important that you're up in arms when things are temporarily off kilter, you may want to take a step back and consider just how good we've got it here. I can think of no other explanation for all of the complaining.
  7. Jody, I get this after clicking ion your screen name- "Smart-Resins has not set their status" Maybe you need to edit your profile and change your status? I don't know, just a thought. It's easy to get used to a forum you frequent, and there will always be people who resist change, but the forum looks good to me, other than the previosuly mentioned options box blocking the view of the reply box. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Thanks for the time, money and effort you've spent to upgrade/update the forums, Gregg.
  8. I think they added the second HEMI engine and parts trees which came in the Pro Street version of the kit, so any other parts (the Centerline wheels) were on those same trees were included in this kit by default. The '90s re-issue I have includes the same parts, including the extra wheels. This kit also makes a good donor for a more detailed JoHan Superbird kitbash project, which is what I'm doing with mine.
  9. Take a bow, guys, you've done some very nice work. This is exactly the type of kit I've come to expect from Revell and don't mind paying $20 for, either. I can't wait for the '70 442 and Rallye 350 versions to come out in a few years!
  10. That's very cool, indeed. I never even thought to look for a Japanese kit of the Mitsu-based Challenger, but there it is. I kind of prefer the stock versions, myself:
  11. I purchased an ALPS printer ten years ago, and it was definitely very finicky. Since each different color (magenta, cyan, yellow, black, and white) are is printed in it's onw layer, you have to plan out the colors before you print so that the lighter colors don't get darkened by the darker colors. Plus, the decal sheet must remain in the printer and not slip out of position until all colors are finished printing- one slip and you have to start over. Once I got the hang of it, I was able to print some really great 1/16th scael F/C decals, and using Photoshop I was able to get great resolution, too. The printer turned out to be more of a hassle than it was worth for me, so I sold it for about what I paid- $450 or so, IIRC. I used Tango Papa clear decal sheets are they worked great.
  12. Love the wheels on the Mopar- are those from the Snap-together '63 Vette kit? Here's some inspiration for you (not done by me, BTW):
  13. I built the Monogram Datsun 4x4 kit in the '80s when it was first released. Pretty simple kit with a silly looking skid plate on the front end, but it went together easily. Those have to be the most boring wheels ever included in a 4x4 kit.
  14. No biggie, just wanted to make sure you knew what you had, since the Revell and Aurora rear wheels do not interchange on each other's slicks.
  15. Those are Revell tires, just FYI. I'll have to locate my Aurora tires in the meantime, as they're in storage...
  16. I want to say the MPC/AMT '63 Corvette kit has a Muncie 4-speed in it... Maybe the MPC/AMT Shelby427 Cobra does? I know neither of the Revell 1/16th '34 Ford rod kits have a manual trans, but the auto (TH350 maybe?) they have is not too shabby.
  17. Am I correct in assuming the Amercian Torque Thrust style wheels are included in the two most recent issues?
  18. The rear M&H slicks, I presume? You have my attention. Any plans to do the front tires, too?
  19. Wow, that is really an impressive model. From concept to execution, you've done one heck of a great job. Talk about an inspirational build, wow!
  20. Wait, there's (there are) more. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php
  21. Are you thinking of Models by Tony Custom Squads, perhaps? Old addy from 10/2000 issue of SAE: 1226 Cherry ST South Plainfield, NJ 07080 I seem to recall he produced an ambulance box that may or may not have been pictured in a back issue of SAE...
  22. Are these new NHRA-branded kits based on existing Revell tooling, or are they all-new? I recall they released the Blue Max '71+ Mustang F/C and a few others a few years back, but I thought those were based on existing tooling.
  23. I'm guessing the wrinkle wall slicks are meant for use with Revell rear wheels only? Are they two-piece tires? Those tri-spoke wheels would look great on a Vic Hubbard R/E Challenger, but I can't think of any other F/Cs which used them off the top of my head... The last pic shows a copy of the Aurora 392 Donovan engine, correct?
  24. Is that the grille from the Revell 1/16 Chevy Pickup kits?
  25. I posted too late at night to do the age math, but it's close enough. I wasn't 100% sure when the RR and Wile E kits were released, so mid '70s was my best guess.
