  1. It would be neat if someone offered a correct/alternate body and coordinating parts, but after 40+ years, I don't see that happening, though RMR seems to be creating at least one all-new 1/16 items, so maybe?
  2. The full contents of the 2020 reissue can be viewed here: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/1584/16-mpc-petty-1973-charger?page=1&scrollTo=1652 Did the previous 2013 reissue, kit #767, included pre-printed RWL tires like the 2020 issue does? Other than some slight printing differences on the instruction sheet and box, both issues appear to be near identical.
  3. Here are the tires included with the most recent reissue: The blackwall tires appear to be blank Goodyear Polyglas GT tires in two sizes, and the wide whitewalls have Firestone Gum Dipped in raised letters on the opposite side. The two five-spoke American Torq Thrust D style wheels are again included, as are the Centerline style optional wheels, but those are getting kind of sloppy. Looks like the mold is worn or pitted around those wheels. ?
  4. Looks like you got some good suggestions over at the FSM forum.
  5. *edit* eh, not really similar to the AMT model in parts layout... Maybe? Windshield angle kinda looks off, as on the AMT model: https://www.coxengineforum.com/t11603-1964-ford-mustang-coupe-factory-radio-controlled-car Looks awfully similar to the 1/12 scale Wen-Mac model, supposedly made by AMF?: https://onemanandhismustang.com/amf-wen-mac-1966-ford-mustang-gt-dealer-promo-model/ They are '66 model year, though:
  6. Thanks for mentioning that....interesting. So a company like Tonka or similar, which had never previously dipped their toes into the molten styrene pool?
  7. All I've heard/read is it will be the Mooneyes Dragster. I think if both were to be reissued, Atlantis would stated that specifically.
  8. Super Digger, too? ? I like that the folks at Atlantis have been willing to dig deep, and pursue reissuing some long OOP kits. Hopefully that contunues.
  9. No, it wouldn't. Now that you posted the pic of the sedan, it's clear the sedan rear seat has a larger diameter curve at the front corners (mentioned earlier by Chris for when using the rear seat as a factory pattern-matching front bench seat) no doubt to ease ingress and egress. Not an issue on a 2-door, but for those wanting more accuracy, the rear seat bottom will need some work, too.
  10. The below images are from the (re-?) re-issued kit, MPC938, so I can't say if they are the same as the 2013 reissue or not. Body parts are again molded in Petty blue, the balance in a color very similar to '90s era AMT/Ertl kits:
  11. I suspect Atlantis has decades worth of TD designed Monogram kits to reissue, so I'm not too worried. IIRC, some of the TD stuff recently released by Hobbico era Revell is still stateside, and didn't go to Atlantis, so it seems possible things might change in the future. That "Daniel Intellectual Properties" was semi-recently created, so I'm sure things are set up for Kelly Daniel to carry on the business, regardless if which company is involved.
  12. We have a Bump of the Week trophy winner. ? Come on down, Chris! Looking back, I'm not sure what I liked so much about the New Edge Mustang based on the SN-95(?) platform...that high arcing hood with the shaker style scoop added to it isn't helping anything.
  13. I edited my post above yours again to add the inside faces of the door panels, and I see (I think I do, anyway) the line you are talking about, but it doesn't align with the gap between the two-door's door and rear quarter panel. It seems to be aligned with the step in the floorboard, which makes things even stranger...just noticed the angled, slotted hole for the dash tab is significantly larger on the four-door panel, too.
  14. Just a few shots of the 2- and 4-door AMT '67 Impala interior parts, for comparison. Note the 2-door's rear interior panels have a dogleg bump out, the lower half of which is not present on the 4-door panels, leaving a noticeable gap between the panel and the seat bottom: Also note both side pieces nest properly inside the notch in the package tray, which makes sense as the package tray/rear seat in both kits is identical. I'm not sure if the real cars used different width rear seat bottoms or not, so not taking the discussion any further than the mention. Door panel/card comparison: The bump out on the 2-door panel is much more noticeable in this shot: *edit* Wow, echoing Jesse's earlier comment, that carpet "texture" just screams '80s MPC kit.
  15. Thanks, all. I edited and bolded the "solved" parts on the list. Still unsure of the red hood, though Not the Ford Courier, and not the MPC Dodge D-50, though it is very similar. I checked out a Revell Chevy Street Pickup, and confirmed Brian's thought above, but the dash is slightly different, especially how the gauges and vents are laid out. Might be from the snap Revell Blazer or Captain Hook snap wrecker.
  16. One thing to look for is a small hole which is melted into the shrink wrap while the shrink wrap is applied. The melted hole apparently prevents a vacuum from forming and allows the shrink wrap to fully seat. Most re-wrapped kirs will not have this feature. I have seen the hole on both Monogram (always on the bottom of the box) and MPC kits (on the top, as seen on this Bronco): Reputable re-sellers, such as Model Empire, will of course label the kit as having been re-wrapped, but I rarely see that elsewhere.
  17. More parts to identify, if anyone is game...sorry for the crude numbering: Panels are from the Revell Mooneyes Dragster, but not sure about the box/cooler thing? 18. No question they will be on eBay soon, like they were when the AMT '65 Chevelle Surf Wagon kit was released, and got parted out by various sellers. Therein lies the rub, however, as when you meet the seller's asking price for the boards alone, then factor in the shipping cost, you may well be three-quarters of the way to buying your own complete kit. This is how eBay selling begins. ?
