Total beauty Craig! Thank you in particular for sharing what parts came from where as it allows me to put my shopping list together
-
Wicked cool build!
-
Fantastic custom!
-
Well done on a difficult build! I say anything you can do to save 'em is better than chucking 'em in the bin.
-
Pure sex! I wish I was a 1:25th size person to drive that awesome car!
-
Great story to go with a great build!

Absolutely beautiful, and I am jealous of your 3D printing skills! I have a built Testors Lamborghini Silhouette in 1:25th scale - which if I'm not mistaken evolved into the Jalpa.
-
Absolutely beautiful! How did you do the yellow pearl?

Recently, I checked the Motor Trend site again for newer Hot Rod magazine issues, but am no longer finding a link to this magazine. I know that it had become a quarterly publication in 2024, but am not sure as to its status now.

Thank you Larry! -
Looks like a total beauty to me! I personally find that as long as my skills diminish a little slower than my eyesight, then I'm okay

Thank you Alan, I hoped it didn't look caricaturish when completed, but was personally quite pleased with the result. -

You're very kind Sir -
Another wicked build Mad Max would love!

Very cool build. It has a distinctly 40's hot rod vibe about it. I could totally have seen this style featured in an early Hot Rod magazine. Thanks for sharing!

Hello All, it's been a minute since I've posted a new build. It's funny how quickly one becomes rusty when stepping away from this hobby of ours . Just to get back into the groove of things, I decided to build the relatively simple Pie Wagon re-issue by Atlantis. It went together quite nicely, but I felt the tires that came with the kit were a bit undersized. Thus, what you see here are some 1:24 scale tires and rims I had lying around from a couple of old diecast cars. I'm curious what you all will think of these more aggressive proportions. The paint job, by the way is the details only. The main body is as it came out of the box. In the below photo, you can really see the difference in proportions... For comparison, here is a box photo with stock tires and rims: The interior got a little extra love with a Model Car Garage gauge panel. To get the stance just right, I dropped the working rear suspension down by a 1/4". Overall, a very pleasant build!

Great build, especially the paintwork. Thanks for posting!

Absolute beauty, including the photos. Deserves to be cover art on the Atlantis box! I'm doing virtually the same color combo right now myself, but my build won't be anywhere as nice as yours. I'm finding the body shells tricky to glue together.

Great color choices, and those rims are sweeet!
-
Came out great!
-
Excellent color choices and tire/rim combo!

What a blast from the past! This was one of the first models I built as a kid, and seeing this one makes me want to go out and immediately get another one Yours came out great - - - equal parts cop car, and screaming hot rod.
