Ah, the pursuit of a craftsman. I have done the same, shelved a build because it just didn’t work to totally start over months later. You got serious skills.

This build took most of last year and a month this year to complete. Two truck kits were used, the AMT Kenworth and the AMT Kenworth Canepa T600. Frame stretched, third axle added, 60inch sleeper fabricated from a 30 inch sleeper from a GMC General kit. The rear suspension was corrected, front suspension corrected and added wider front rims/tires. Grill was corrected and molded into hood as original. The trailer started a an AMT Lowboy kit. It has been stretched to 40ft, wooden deck and 10 hole wheels. Standing tank was fabricated completely from scratch. My fleet continues to grow.

Done, will get photos of truck and trailer over to finished build.

I was on EBay yesterday and someone had listed a fire engine cab, not sure if that would be any help.

Rear decking on, air lines ready to go, skirts done. Few more little things and DONE.

Gonna be one good looking build, will be watching.

You will need to move the cab forward, I assume and will you need to modify the firewall. Interesting to see what you do

I will be following this build and thanks for posting the details. I have a couple of these kits and really like what you are doing. Always wanted to build one of the short hood trucks.
