Thanks to all for the kind words. The encouragement helps after a long hard build like this one was. -
Will have to go a get one of these. Been eyeing one for a while, but after seeing how nice yours turned out....gotta get one.

After a year and a half it is complete. Much more work than I bargained for. The interior is fully detailed, the pre connects are all scratch built as well as the wheel chock docks. Scratch built the rota-beam, and opened up the grill. Glad it’s finished, on to the next one…..

Very sorry to hear this. Liked so much of his work.

My dad was a foreman there right up to the time he left to join the navy. Gave me an exterior tour many years ago, wish I could have recorded that.

Ford W Series cab 3D printed. Interested?

Very interested. -
Very nice! I have one of these in my stash. I found it at a rural outdoor flea market for an unbeatable price. It’s on my short list of kits I’d like to get done.

Hunting for dropped parts on the floor under my bench.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. This car went into the strip tank twice….but it turned out ok in the end. And as was mentioned by several of you, it was a very satisfying experience building this car from my past. Next, I’m going to build the first new car I ever had.

I did this car as a throwback to my childhood. My parents ordered the inspiration for this build in early 1964, and I have many fond memories of riding in this car. I was never crazy about the color, but I’m guessing my mom was the one that selected it. The build is box stock, as all I wanted was a model that captured the car as I remember it. Thanks for looking.

What floor would you have under your model build area?
Engine 51 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Standard tile, as my bench is in the basement. To aid with the lost parts problem I keep a foam knee board and a very bright LED light under the bench so I can search for escaped parts without further destroying my knees. -
A very Merry Christmas!!

Looks great! And the BMF is terrific. I am currently at war with BMF on my current build. I have never gotten on well with BMF.

Joe, I will be very interested to get your thoughts on how this unit works once you have had a chance to use it. I am in the market for a new spray booth and have had my eye on this one.
