  1. Impressive image. Love it!!!!
  2. Dust & Smoke A traditional styled hot rod coupe leaves a cloud of dust & smoke as it travels along a rural country dirt road.I created this illustration digitally using Rebelle 4 (sketching & painting), Photoshop CC 2021 (contrast, color adjustment & resizing) & my Wacom Intuos 3 stylus & tablet.
  3. Nice work Big John!!!
  4. Flying Saucers Attack Teenage Hot Rodder I created this 100% digitally. I sketched everything (except UFO) using ArtRage, a fantastic painting program much like Corel Painter but costs a quarter of the price. I modeled the UFO in a 3D modelling app named Groboto 3D which is now defunct as Groboto has become Mesh Fusion and part of the 3D modeling app Modo. A screen capture of the UFO was brought into ArRage where I painted over it. Further tweaks were done in Photoshop (contrast, color correction, cropping, adding signature, etc). I created this for Jalopy Journal's weekly Friday Art Show.
  5. I purchased this kit over one month ago from Michaels. You getting me motivated to tackle this 66 Stang...
  6. A photo I took of this car in the mid to late 1970s when it was a drag race car. Original photo was taken with my Yaschia SLR fil camera and in 2017 I scanned to digital via my Epson scanner.
  7. I really love that "Pearl Plum" color. Hood off looks pretty cool to me. Perhaps you could bend a piece of sheet styrene into a hood top and see how it looks with a hood with no sides. Nice work on these two cars.
  8. Looking mighty fine. If the carbs fit under the hood and it's a street vehicle, I'd go with no scoop. But you are the artist and it's your canvas. -)
  9. Looks great. I think I prefer the running board and pickup bed version, how does this version look like with the hood off? Or even the sides removed from the hood? Do you have a preference for DecoArt or Crafsmart hobby acrylic paints?
  10. Hot Rod Journal is one of my most favorite magazines. Their website the jalopy journal https://www.jalopyjournal.com/ may have a few photos as well.
  11. Great detail shots. Now I want to purchase that ICM Model T kit.
  12. Wow...very impressive model and build...Never had the pleasure of owning one of these Moebius kits.
  13. With the those wheels, tires and bomber seats, this baby is just begging for a flat head... Looks damn cool.
  14. Love the 60 Ford Starliners that appear at our local car shows and it appears your build is going to be delightful...
  15. Loving your work on this kit, especially the stock roadster. Love the color scheme. And thanks very much on what you mix this paint with as DecoArt acrylics are abundant at local Dollaramas in Halifax. Cheers and many thanks...
  16. That Merc is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing...
  17. Love 39 and 40 Fords. This 4 door sedan is spectacular. Does it still have the flathead V8?
  18. Outstanding idea and build.
  19. Awesome photos of some very impressive cars. I always loved the Datsun 240Z to 260Z cars. Of course if I owned one I would be swapping out that inline 6 for a small block Chevy... It must have been a treat to see those old SCCA and IMSA race cars. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed them.
  20. Me and my Corvette at a local car show in 2014. My two passions in life, my 1960 Corvette and the St Louis Blues of the NHL. Photo snapped by a friend.
  21. I've been following Rod Halligan on Instagram and Youtube for a couple of years now. He is an automotive designer who uses Blender and Rhino 3D Instagram https://www.instagram.com/rod_halligan_1/ youtube He used to have a lot of Blender youtube tutorials on modeling cars mostly Porches and Ferraris. But he also modeled hot rods and the Duesenberg Mormon Meteor, however he removed all his tutorials when Ferrari was opposed to Rod using the prancing horse logo on his 3D creations, Rod took down all the 3D modeling tutorials and left youtube. However he has recently returned but with no car modeling tutorials. Rod is a gifted 3D modeler. I also like Andy Luck who models cars in Blender and a very talented 3D artist. I also follow him on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/andy.luck3rdfeb/ and on youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcYqDLSZZVs_4Ng7_0Vsduw where he has lots of car modeling tutorials. We are also friends on Facebook and chat regularly. He has been a wealth of information to me. Andy is also a friend of the gent you owns AMF model cars. https://www.instagram.com/amfmodelcars/?hl=en
  22. Perhaps there should be a room or section - not sure which they are called here for "3D Printing, modeling and Computer Talk" as this is a very complicated and broad topic that also involves computer hardware, software, 3D modeling apps (3D Max, Blender, Lightwave, Silo3D, Cinema 4D, etc) vs CAD programs (Autocad, Turbocad, etc) vs Sculpting apps (Mudbox, Zbrush, 3DCoat), polygonal modeling vs nurbs & curves, graphic cards come into play as well as it seems most prefer Nvidia over AMD because of CUDA support, 3D scanners vs photogrammetry and which photogrammetry software (Meshroom, Reality 3D, MetaShape, 3D Zephyr, etc), what type of 3D printer FDM, SLP, etc. I can see this thread going into multiple directions. Just my 2 cents and sorry if I offended anyone, not my intent.
  23. Cool cars. The only Crosleys I ever saw in person where at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Maine "the Pine Tree state". Really digging that low down Chevy...
