1958 Impala is my all time favourite car. I had already built one of these as a drag car. I had trouble with the opening doors, and there was a lot of bare metal foil used. To make a stock car racer, I glued the doors shut and puttied up the lines, then I sanded off all the trim. Filled the headlights and taillights with Tamiya putty. Tamiya 23 light blue paint , Plastic Performance wheels and tires. I can’t remember who made the decals. (Ain’t it great getting old)?

I found TS23 is a nice Petty blue

Awesome weathering. I have yet to try that technique. Hope mine comes close to this one.

Watching a little mayhem at the County Fair

Well the decals finally arrived for the 442, I was doing a masking mock-up and the tape pulled the white paint off, back to the drawing board, or rather the paint booth

Silver trim is complete on the Monte Carlo. Still waiting for the decals for the 442. Last time I order them from Spain. (I live in Canada)

Just curious what others preferred kits are and why? I pretty well only buy AMT. I like the solid metal rear axle, it works well with the Plastic Performance wheels and tires that I usually use.
