  1. I did think about making wider rims but since the axle was a bit wider (it's the one I had exchanged on my K100 build cause it was too wide) the wheels would have been too far outside the fenders. I tried out a few different variations and even printed a few to try it out but this was the best solution! Anyway, I again learned something new and I thank you for the English lesson! 😄
  2. OK, thanks! Actually I thought about putting wider tires on the front axle but they wouldn't have fit. I'm glad I was able to put the Revell soft rubber tires on.
  3. Guess I can call the truck finished! I decided to post it "under glass" when the trailer is finished too and so the whole rig!
  4. I added marker lights to the tank along the sides and front and rear!
  5. Well done! It's always a good feeling when you approach something new and then get such a great result! I'll be watching!
  6. Wow, thanks! I do try to design parts so the printing result is as good as possible but the printing lines still come out and are hard to hide. I may actually do one or the other buyable kit again and pimp it with styrene!
  7. Jeff, you created a masterpiece! You had a vision and never let it slide away till you reached your goal! It's not just getting this kit together straight but you turned it into a rare and realistic looking truck model! Thanks for sharing it with us!
  8. Looks just awesome Jeff! Thanks for having us take part in this marvellous build!
  9. Thanks very much Jeff! I'm always thankful for input from experienced truckers! What do you mean by floats? I don't know the expression referring to trucks! Sorry, but I'm still just a "Kraut"! 😊
  10. Thanks very much! I just looked for corporate signs that fit the color, no affinity to Exxon. The decals are selfmade. Taken out of the internet printed on white decal paper.
  11. A competition? Wow! I once made second in a model competition of southern Germany with my K100 VIT! I was so proud! I wish you all the luck you can get! 🍀🍀🍀🍀 (Not that you need luck with your skills but maybe it helps)!
  12. Thanks guys! Yes, there will be a trailer! I think I posted a little video of the 3D design! Have to build my show case first though, otherwise there's no space for a trailer! The truck won't take additional space cause it was there before and was just "improved"!
  13. Outstanding build! Hard to believe it's a snap kit! Keep going! Put the next one on the bench! We need someone to fill in with 1/32 kits while Steve takes a break! 😉
  14. Thanks Gary! How's your beer truck doing?
  15. 👍 Anyone know why posts get copied and how to delete the emojis?
  16. I changed the strategy of how I'd get the wheels onto the new axle! I took the chromed outside part of the rims off, mounted them on selfmade rim drums which are wider and used the self designed brake drums I use for practically all selfmade trucks. This way I can use the same tires as on the rear wheels! The brake drums are similar to the classic AMT ones. I just changed them a bit and put spacers on so the track width fits the truck. And the hubs are now blue like in the rear! Also I redecided on the bumper issue. I'll keep the original one because the results of the printed bumper weren't satisfactory! Since the bumper is only stuck on with the two pins I can still replace it anytime! In the mean time the new plate and the hazard sign are in place!
  17. Good morning! I actually decided to Exchange the front axle and put in a steerable one! Had a complete one in my parts box! I know it's a bit late at this stage but not impossible! I cut off the axle shafts of the old one and designed fitting break drums. They're in print at the moment!
  18. Thanks very much Guys! Glad you like it! Might even get finished this weekend!
  19. The decals came out nice! Getting there!
  20. Mud flaps made of printing rafts! I know, it's got mud flaps hanging on the fenders but I thought it would look nice! The tank end doesn't really look too good when you look at it up close but there will be a decal on it which will cover that up a bit.
  21. Thanks Jeff! Yes, I took off the original headlights and used lights out of my parts box. I had already done that as I built it. Glad you like it! Tool box and bumper will hopefully be chromed tomorrow or saturday.
  22. Some more progress! Tank is glued on, so is the "skywalk" (I like to call it that), the pump hoses are mounted, stacks, ladder, ...! Stuck the old bumper on again just for the pics! Still a lot to do though! Rear left tool box, new bumper and some small stuff like marker lights, ...!
  23. First mock-up with the chromed tank!
