  1. A little more work done today. Drilled out the gauges and created the light enclosure. created the hood hinge and added magnets. Added reinforcement to the hood so it wouldn’t flex out of shape so much. Added some detail to the engine compartment.
  2. Thank you! My family is telling me now I have to make that a regular modification plus the LEDs light I have been doing.
  3. I got some work done on the body. Drilled and removed the door handles and locks, etched the door gaps and created rocker panel moldings. Etched headlight buckets and end caps. Removed wipers pinned and drilled for rear view mirror and antenna. Created trunk lid hinge and added magnets to hold shut. next I will created the hood hinge with magnets and the body fabrication and modification will be done and ready for priming and filling for paint.
  4. Thank You! the body color is one that was actually available from ford at the time. This image was actually taken a few months back at the Santa Barbara Woody show we went to of a 1941 Woody that gave me the inspiration to paint it this color. Thank You!
  5. Thank you! Hopefully I won’t let you down.
  6. Got the LED wiring harness created.
  7. Being as OCD as I am I couldn’t leave the power steering cylinder like that, so I pinned it and drilled it out so a rod could move through it like the real thing. I converted the rear seat to a 1967 pattern, converted the pedals and console to automatic, created sun visors with brackets and pinned. Interior components are mostly done. I do still need to drill out the gauges for LEDs. all just sitting there, nothing glued, and it is fitting pretty well so far.
  8. Thank You! Still have a long way to go.
  9. Thank You! Tiny little rivets, but they do make quite a difference I think. Thank You! Thank You!
  10. Sorted parts by section into ziplocks and assembled a few components that will get painted together. As mentioned before one problem with this kit is the front suspension. It makes the wheels stick outside the fenders. this is how much I had to move the spindles inboard. once you do it fits in the front fenders much nicer. I also decided to make the front wheels poseabl The power steering cylinder looks a little odd not moving but not too terrible.
  11. Thank You!
  12. Thank You! A lot of fab work to go but some major big parts completed.
  13. Finished the trunk lid adding a frame, I then created molds for the back seat section and the trunk lid. Also added edges to the engine compartment to help alignment and installation. created three top boots, rest convertible seats and trunk lids so I will have some for future builds. Cast a few other parts in the process for other builds. trial fit the body, interior and chassis using newly cast resin parts.
  14. Thank You! There is NO real wood on my 1941 Woody build, though I did use basswood to make the bed stakes on my 1950 Chevy 3100 build. All of the wood on this build is done using oil paints, including the surfboard. About 1/2 of the decals are from the kit, the other half I made a sheet of decals from doing a search for vintage surfer decals.
  15. Thank You! Very Nice! I may very well be one of those dots down there.
  16. Thank You! Nice memory to have.
  17. Thank You!
  18. I have had good luck polishing Splash paints 2K after wet sanding with Novus 3 & Novus 2 once I have a decent shine. I do use a fairly slow rotatory tool and some Dspiae polishing pads of various hardness. I am pretty sure that cutting compound is still too gritty to get the shine you want. You've seen the outcome I get.
  19. Thank You! I use a lot of Top Studio rivets. I use 1.2mm type A for door & trunk locks, 0.9mm type C for interior door lock knobs, various sizes of hex rivets for bolts all over, etc. Some great stuff for detailing but hard to get locally, or even in the states.
  20. Thank You! Thank You! My back story I told myself was to imagine a young soldier returned how from WWII, but only a little bit hotrodder but mainly a Surfer so he hops up his families Wagon a bit with period correct Flathead performance goodies and hits the surf. I did put a San Diego decal prominently on the back window as sort of an easter egg, because we go to the Wave Crest Woody show every year down near San Diego.
  21. Thank You! Thank You!
  22. Thank You! Thanks Zippi. The color was an original for the year I picked up for MCW finishes. I thought about a roof rack, but it felt more like what a young surfer in the 50s would have done hanging out the back.
  23. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! They are very tiny, but I do think they make a big difference.
  24. Thank You! Thank You!
  25. Thank You! took me a little longer than normal, but that was partly from pulling a tendon in my left thumb. I think it turned out well though.
