  1. I mixed up my own out of tamiya paints, 3 parts x-7 and 1 part x9, probably will add another part of x9 to make it darker. Unless you guys think it's good.
  2. Was trying to snipe a amt 66 falcon built up just now on ebay but lost. I really want one of these and always loose out. I want to build a replica of my dad's high school car which he still has in running driving order. I wish I could just get my hand on one. Pic of my dad's car in it's current shape. Elliot
  3. Just got the body in primer.
  4. Thank you, I appreciate it. I've been working on improving my engine detailing, think it's paying off.
  5. I got a lot of stuff done yesterday one of them is the engine. Put spark plugs in and got them in correct firing order, little bit of a chore. I think the big block ford looks amazing in this kit, the tooling is so crisp.
  6. I haven't really built a lot of modern tooled kits, so this thing goes together like a dream!
  7. Looks amazing, your really doing this snapper justice!
  8. Red plug wires would go amazing with the red fittings! Looks awesome man, lovin' it.
  9. Probably red DupliColor sandable primer. I'll probably mix up my own out of acrylic.
  10. Thanks a lot! Exactly what I was looking for! That will definitely help me!
  11. You can find the cal drag combos on ebay for around 40 bucks. Also not all Ollie's are created equal, mine haven't had new kits sence last year.
  12. Oh yeah! It's just your average grandma car, NOPE, BIG BLOCK POWA BABY.
  13. How would I go about painting the chassis of a 60s era ford like per say a thunderbolt? Would it be black, over sprayed body color, or full body color? Thanks for your knowledge.
  14. I know for a fact the mpc 67 "streaker vette" has one cause I just finished one.
  15. Ooo, definitely snatch up all those roadster kits, the parts in there are amazing!
  16. My vission with this car is to do a Wimbledon White car and make it look like it came straight from Dearborn Steal Tubing. Plan is to use MCW Wimbledon white and with the gold intirior. I just want to make it look like a factory R code. The Thunderbolt is by far my favorite car and I'm excited to get started on it.
  17. 1st air brush job, pretty pleased with it.
  18. Thanks, there were definitely challenges and the tooling 100% showed it's age. The thing is you exchange quality for total 70s style!
  19. Thank you! I take pride in my 3 generation model building history. I also feel like the models go really well together.
  20. Awesome man, love this body style of ford truck!
  21. Welp, it took me a little bit to finish this kit but I finally got it done and... I'm quite pleased with the result. This car had a couple paint issues mainly because it was the first car I airbrushed but I finally got them settled out, the color is testors red metallic flake with DupliColor filler primer and decanted Rustoleum enamel clear (only way I could spray it without it lifting the paint). There are not many things in the terms of modifications on this car. Really the only thing was the intake, where I shortened the carb mounting plate because originally they were too far apart, and parts box carbs/ air cleaners were added. The cool thing is when I told my grandfather that I picked this up from the LHS he said he built this kit back in the 70s as a kid. I didn't know that and thought it was pretty cool. I also happened to have some of his surviving models, low and behold, I HAVE HIS ORIGINAL BUILD UP! I was so happy and almost emedietly started building my kit. Oh and don't ask where the passengers side tail light went, I swear I don't know (6 tail light mod) Photo of his original build up. The back portion of the interior felt quite bare so I decided to add the racing fuel tank that comes with the kit. Of course it's my standard to at least do spark plug wires on each model. I decided to experiment with fuel lines to, turned out pretty well I think. It was a blast building this kit and was a pretty good learning opportunity for me. The struggles were worth it and I definitely learned how to avoid them. I guess now I clean off the bench and start another kit, what do you say fellas? Thanks for looking and I always appreciate your comments and feedback! Elliot
