  1. Will it come with an up-top? Beautiful color scheme on the build.
  2. This is a great point! Learning the names of the various parts and where they locate on the vehicle really helped me back in the day. Of course, not all instructions call-out the parts by name.
  3. Thanks Chuck. I had mine in primer all ready to shoot color and you tell me the skirts are in the wrong place! Sure enough, I put the body on the chassis and you're right. So I'm filling and recutting. It's a bear filling and sanding without destroying the trim! Seriously, thanks for the heads-up. I never would have noticed until it was too late. Did they make the correction to the Flock '52 or does that need the fix as well? I've got one but haven't opened it yet.
  4. I didn't think anyone could out-crusty the Doctor, but I think you win! Very convincing, great job.

    52 Hudson

Great build. Very convincing with that color combo. Nice work.
  6. Congrats. Now you can look forward to lots of junk mail from AARP

    68 Camaro.

Very clean, I like it a lot!
  8. I just finished this kit. I had a good time building it, the front sub frame in particular is very cool. Only problem I had was the hood was warped, wouldn't lay flat against the front fenders the way I wanted.
  9. Thanks! I'll do just that.
  10. As other have said, the instructions are another invaluable reference. Are they always correct? Of course not. But in nearly every kit I've built there's at least one part on a tree that I can't identify, either because I've not seen it before or it has only a vague resemblance to what it's supposed to be. And Harry is right, no way you build a Pocher without them!
  11. For me it seems white and red shades seem thicker to begin with and harder to brush well. Silvers and metallics flow well but need complete and frequent stirring to keep the pigments suspended. With practice you'll be able to tell what needs thinning and what doesn't. Sometimes it takes multiple coats (such as red on white plastic) to get complete coverage. Don't get discouraged and welcome to the hobby. You may become a styrene addict if you're not careful and start wearing red pajamas and smoking cigars
  12. I had a subscription to the mag that my wife neglected to renew I have since renewed and received issue #164. Trouble is, I missed 163 and 162, both of which look great. Is there any way to purchase recent back issues? I looked on the home page and the store but don't see anything. Does the kahuna have a solution? Thanks in advance!
  13. Will be good to see him back out there, but sometimes it's sad to see former champions getting lapped and running 3 laps down.
  14. Very nice. You do such clean work on the neatest obscure subjects. I love it!
  15. I use Micro Krystal Clear. It might take a couple of applications but you don't have to mix it. I've also used Elmers for headlight lenses but it doesn't always dry completely clear.
  16. Wow. I may have to try that wagon! Roof from a '65 Chevelle wagon maybe?
  17. Nice looking car. Love the old CanAm stuff.
  18. I hope it's flame retardant with that stogie going!
  19. Sepia tone is a process of tinting a B/W photo for effect. Mostly from the 19th century and newer stuff made to look older (you and the little miss as a sheriff at the fair?). Great dio by the way!
  20. Please add my kudos as well. Great paint. As a former photographer, direct sunlight or a single light source indoors is almost always the worst setup. That's why you always see pros using lots of light sources and/or reflectors to soften if not eliminate the shadows.
  21. Really cool, Mike! Just the right amount of weathering and great dio pic.
  22. Great link Harry, thanks!
  23. Here's mine, bone stock. Great kit, I really enjoyed the build. Oops. Just realized this is the '61. Here's the '62
  24. X2! Bristol, Martinsville, N. Wilksboro, those are (were) great races. I think they're all trying to emulate Charlotte, but they'll never have the history behind them.
