  1. Plane crashes, while tragic, don't have the same effect as a fatality on the race track (except for the air race fatality recently). We take for granted these days how "safe" racing anything from go-carts to Funny Cars is but the danger is part of the attraction for spectators and participants alike. The footage of the Indycar crash in Vegas was both horrifying and riveting. Drivers know every time they go on the track what could happen, and maybe they are narcissistic adreline junkies, but so are we. I salute anyone with the fortitude to go out there and risk life and limb for our entertainment. They earn those big (and not so big) paychecks IMHO.
  2. This is a tough one. Where's the line between a suede custom and a rat? Slightly weathered versus junkyard dog? A racecar on the pace lap versus in the garage at Bristol after some "rubbing"? There are many shades of gray (no pun intended). I think it boils down to the contest and where the judges feel comfortable/knowledgable.
  3. Hudson mania indeed! Could you have chosen a tougher subject? I'm following with great interest, and best of luck
  4. Outstanding job! Great looking replica of an obscure subject. Where do you get reference pics for old USAC rigs?
  5. Just finished today, first one I've completed for awhile. Monogram, kit decals. I hate the large 1-piece decals for the sides, but it does go quicker. The nose was particularly hard to lay down, lots and lots of Solvaset! Darrell Waltrip running for Junior Johnson back in the '80's. Comments welcome. I'm always looking to learn something new.
  6. Way too pretty for a dirt car Nice job!
  7. The 1967 STP/Granitelli Indianapolis turbine car. I think it was MPC or IMC, in 1/20 scale. I saw the real thing at time trials back in the day. It was really weird when the others went roaring by and then just a "whoosh" of that day-glo red machine going by. I had it and built it when I was a hack 14 yr old slapping them together as fast as possible. Sure would like another crack at it!
  8. Excellent job. Great looking paint and clean detailing. Sharp!
  9. Awesome job! TV Tommy was one of the greats and you've done him justice.
  10. Put me down for one or two of each! These are all right in my wheelhouse (age 57). I wasn't interested in fins and 4 doors when I was 10, but I sure am now
  11. "We're all just monkeys with car keys." - George Carlin
  12. "Chrome" headlights molded to the grille. Hard to make convincing.
  13. Wow, I gotta have one of these! A longroof and a Rambler, sweet
  14. Awesome job on the interior, although the belts look a little too wide for 1966? I love the color. Impala's rule
  15. Amazing first effort. Great job, love those year Novas. As far as your English don't worry. You're doing better than a lot of us when it's our 1st language
  16. Very clean build of an American classic. Great job. Too bad Olds is gone
  17. Way cool. And you have a 1:1 Airstream? My uncle used to take us camping when we were kids in just this style trailer. Thanks for the memories
  18. Great replicas. I love the '60's cars. You did a great job on these
  19. Great build! The modifieds are awesome at NH, they have to put restrictor plates on them. Twice the tire, half the weight with the same basic engine as a Cup car. No wonder they fly!
  20. Love the 21 car! Back when the nose wasn't the only difference.
  21. Nice job. Everyone has to have a 3 car in the collection, regardless of what you thought of the driver.
  22. Please add my compliments! Great job, love those diggers.
  23. It's so homely that it's cool. Excellent work.
  24. Just saw this today, OUTSTANDING!! I'm in the process of doing all Impalas from '58 (that I can find kits) and that '61 is tough to foil. Excellent job.
  25. Same for me, I don't post a lot because it takes forever to finish a build in between life and work. It's a milestone and so what if some (many) are inactive? I've come to enjoy all the diverse opinions on here whether I agree or not, they make me think. Kudos to everyone involved in keeping this site running.
