  1. Another very clean build John! Benny was a true gentleman driver and great ambassador for the sport.
  2. This is very cool! Are you putting it back to black or?
  3. Who's going to be the first to complain about 'desecrating' the flag on the roof? The same folks who had their panties in a bunch when the hippies sewed flags on the 'rear' of their jeans?
  4. Outstanding replica! Very nicely done.
  5. After seeing this thread, I had to go to Wallyworld and get a Stude. I also came home with a '49 Buick Roadmaster. Lead sled anyone? Great job so far on the gasser! I'm a little nervous about hacking on metal
  6. Great job! Now if he could only get the firesuit from Delana
  7. Me too. And then like RodneyBad put them back together and do it again! It was usually airplanes though, not cars. When I asked dad if I could blow one up, he said "sure, as long as you pick up each and every piece", like that was gonna be a deterrent

    Smart??

Great job! Hot rod of the future? Can you say speed skating?
  9. X2 I wonder if it will have "racing parts" like heavy duty wheels and a roll bar?
  10. Of course the knife. But after that I would say wooden clothes pins. I've got them in 3 or 4 different sizes and you can cut them up for unusual clamping jobs.

I never pay that much attention. Probably a generic hardware store red enamel. I use those a lot.

    Mopar cars

Nice 300C. Love the finned cars.

Before Hendrick, running for DEI I think. Monogram kit. Sits a little too high in the back, but the springs will settle down at speed, right? Wouldn't want to fail post-race inspection
  14. Great job, very realistic looking. Now if I could only find one like that for $100
  15. X2. Any dark red/maroon would work IMO.
  16. Very nice. Did you polish the paintjob? Davey was a great up and coming talent, could have gone far.
  17. Hey Harry, while you're at it you could either combine NASCAR and Drag, or do 'straightline' and 'circle track'. That way the dirt, indycar, and roadrace guys could join the fun. I agree about the 'how-to/tips' ideas.
  18. Since they only have forums for NASCAR and Drag Racing, maybe the bosses would consider adding one for dirt, or maybe combining them all into Racecars? I'd like to see some Indycars and whathaveyou as well
  19. Very convincing weathering. Hoosier did make Goodyear step up their game if nothing else. They had been a little too complacent up to then. Great car!
  20. Very nice John. You continue to come up with variations I've never seen.
  21. I'll bet you could take the roof off AMT's '70 Monte Carlo and be really close. Would probably have to do some work on the interior to remove the doglegs?
  22. Like many others, the winter months are prime. Summers are just too short here. I do try to do 1hr an evening this time of year, more when it's dark at 4:30pm

    ol' DW

Ok, it's been awhile. Here's "jaws" last ride, I think it was a Hendrick car (or possibly Hendrick backed). Darrell has moved on to announcing and I think he's pretty good at it, even if he backs everything NASCAR does and he likes Kyle Busch. Thanks for lookin' and "let's go racin' boys"!
  24. These are very cool. I find as I get older I'm being drawn more and more to earlier cars, such as the 'brass era' instead of the 50's-60's.
