  1. aw that's too bad I irregularily pick up an issue from walmart time to time. First no more Roadkill on cable tv now no more Muscle Machine mag geez why the gotta cancel car stuff these days
  2. That hard top is really nice; the reason i'm trying to find out about this kit was to build one that represents the one my Grandfather had; it was that exact colour but had a white top and four doors. Out of curiousity do you know what colour that paint on the hardtop is called and what brand of spray can it is just in case I find the kit down the road and need the paint colour
  3. I got the photos of that Mustang I just came into possesion of; it's going along, all the parts are there except the headlights are missing but we gotta sand the body and what not. I have a really far out idea for this build, won't disclose any details...
  4. Yes I’ve seen his 60 Plymouth, really stunning build but I’d want to build one my own way and would certainly not redo a beautifully built kit. The 60 is more of a long term acquisition for me any way also doesn’t appear on the list either anyway
  5. I've discovered i'm getting a little irritated about the obtainability of vintage kits; namely the '65 T-bird and '62 Galaxie hardtop. Niether of their molds apparently exist anymore, and both were only issued in the '60s, the 'bird once in '65, and the Galaxie in '62 and then again in '69. Also, both kits would be considerably hard to find around here; would have to order from ebay which we're not really in any position to order from as my dad is mildly skeptical of that site. Even then, both kits being classified as collectors items because of age and rarity would yeild the collectors fee of at least over $200 which I would absolutley never spend on a kit (unless it's the JoHan '60 Plymouth). That price reflects the collectability, not the actual quality of the kit, and that's what gets me. I don't care how old it is I just want to build it. Was hoping to build the '65 'bird like the one my great uncle has, and the '62 Galaxie like the one my Grandfather had, but that may never happen because of the fact these kits are lost in time
  6. That's the main reason I wish certain vintage kits were reissued because the originals are either unobtainium or have a collector's fee of around $200 for a kit that really isn't any different than the latest kits just that the plastic and everything else is 50+ years old. Here's a possibly stupid question, why can't AMT remake the molds; there's still '62 Galaxies driving around that could be referenced and with the technology we have these days you'd think it would be pretty easy to re-create all the parts in 1:24 or 1:25 scale
  7. Yeah I was just going to convert it to a four-door and make it look like the one my grandfather had.
  8. Like the prespective photography; car looks good from here too.👍
  9. Some two dudes from across the street helped my grandma and her 2007 Kia Spectra get unstuck from her driveway; twice. Coming back from shopping she got stuck and then we pushed her out only for her to get stuck again a little ways up the driveway. Snow's been melting here via rain over the past three days so the driveway is just slush and gravel.
  10. Ranch-ero falcons are nice cars
  11. Yes the picture is of an original kit; I meant does AMT have a new release of the kit. I know it was re-issued in 1969 but I don't know if it has since then
  12. "Is the '62 Galaxie kit only original issues or is there a new release"
  13. Tonight I may start on the 1966 Mustang kit my dad brought home from Value Village last night that I didn't know about until 7:22 this morning
  14. So surprise, my dad picked up yet again another '66 mustang fastback kit, this time from Value village. This will be the third one I have, the first two being both Shelbies, namely the GT 350 and Hertz version. This one is actually also a Hertz kit but since I've already built one, this 'stang will be built however I want. This is also an "attempted to be built" kit, as it was atrociously painted red with a brush, and the unpained interior was glued in. I have never built a '66 mustang that handn't been screwed around with, so i've got the procedure down pat. Looks like all the parts are there so it should be good to go.
  15. Really liking this; been scrollin’ through the forum looking for the ‘66; wanted to see a built example before I get my hands on one, and I must say I can’t wait to build one, yours there looks really nice.
  16. Really nice build; love the colour and white stripes; how did you get the bumpers re plated? Is there like a technique or did you bring them in somewhere
