  1. I studied and used the same tutorial. Very useful and informative.I had good results. A light, steady hand is a must.
  2. πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. I'm sure it did. Albany NY area, so probably runs down to NYC. Same idea.
  4. I've got the same exact gas tank, full size, down to the emblems. Looks like he does great work. Probably much cheaper to build at scale. I'll have to look into getting one. Thanks
  5. I've seen the bidding wars that comes from that handy work. My friend had a small used car dealership. He would pick up something with a bad engine/transmission or police impound and a parts car to go with. The police impound cars were interesting at times. We picked up a 2017 jeep grand cherokee, perfect except for the interior, every seat and panel was cut and pulled apart. They even sliced the seat belts.
  6. We do the same thing. As a "bonus" this wall is a foot of riverstone, stays cool most of the day and acts like a supplemental heat source in the winter when the trees are bare. It faces east, they used their heads back in 1940 when they built the place. One 10,000 btu air conditioner will cool the entire place comfortably because of the shading and how they built the place.
  7. Thanks for posting this. I've been poking around trying to figure out how old these are. The zip code date is a big help. I don't plan on using these, I'll probably find a small case and put together a little display of old modeling tools and products.
  8. The gentleman had said they were built by Austin, and imported here by AMC. This is only the second one I've seen in this condition, I've seen a few in wrecking yards over the years. They're cool old cars you don't see everyday.
  9. I used to hunt the auctions a few years ago, bought my Mother a Nissan that ran roughly at the lot, turned out to be a disconnected injector. Car had a brand new timing belt, and all new tune-up parts. Whoever did the belt didn't check their work, and we reaped the rewards.
  10. The smoking gun that was mentioned was the rapid cranking. Their internet was probably not available, youtube university was closed.
  11. Full parts cannon Salvo.
  12. Found some packs of OLD x-acto #11 blades at a yard sale today. Cool old packaging, no bar codes. Still sharp with just a touch of rust. Anyone have any idea how old these are?
  13. Whether there's interest or not, post 'em up. You may end up showing someone a trick or tip on building similar. Builds can get buried pretty quickly, I just stumbled across yours. Looking great so farπŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. I've been a car guy all my life, I've grown to enjoy the rare, unusual and less seen one's as I've gotten older. At car shows in the sea of camaro's and Mustangs I'll rave over the pinto or chevette.this one made my day.
  15. That can happen to the best of us. We've got a guy at the shop that does that with the left handed drill bits ( used for removing broken studs and bolts). I've become a pro at sharpening them now, and we lock that set away.
  16. Cool little Nash showed up this morning while I was having coffee. Guy said he was the 4th owner, 26000 original miles
  17. Beautiful Malibu. Very nice work
  18. Was just about to post the same.πŸ‘πŸ‘.
  19. Looks greatπŸ‘πŸ‘. Awesome color choices, it gives a nice contrast. Great looking hotrod you've built. This is such a versatile, fun kit to build. Nice work.
  20. I read articles a few years ago about that, which is why I also posted the picture in "what irked you today". Good for the goose, and all that I guess. At least I didn't need to get gas.
  21. My poor attempt at humor. I'm aware they're electric. πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Saw a gasoline powered dumpster. I thought those were only electric?
  23. I appreciate videos like this. They show people you don't need a huge, highly outfitted shop to create a work of art. Tools make the job faster and easier. Nothing beats sweat equity and knowledge when it comes to quality,IMHO.
  24. NOTHING is a waste of time if you learn from it and enjoy it. I'm in my forties and will still drag home the random whatever to get running or repair. In the end I either use, sell or scrap it, so nothing lost. Finish up that chair and enjoy it. Summer is flying by.πŸ‘πŸ‘
