  1. Awesome. I went "dragged out of a barn and cut up" with mine. I like the period correct idea a bit more.
  2. Nice haul, I wish mine had deals like that.
  3. Looks great Michelle 👍👍.
  4. Shaping up to be a sharp looking '34.👍👍
  5. Here's a couple pictures, 69 daytona and 70 chevelle. It gives you an idea of how things were done
  6. Not blasting their products at all, I caught a video a while back where the screws on one of their throttle bodies came out and did some damage to one of Steve Morris's engines. Long story short, they now tack weld every screw on the throttle blades. Top tier company.
  7. Mr blonde in reservoir dogs was another.
  8. Older cast iron, and cast steel, can be extremely dense and strong. I've got an interest in old machining equipment, some manufacturers would cast the bases and parts and let them "season" or normalize for a while before finishing the lathe, mill ect. I wonder if that boiler "work hardened" over the years of service. As for the diamond wheel, cast iron has tons of carbon in it,that dulls most regular blades. Machinists cover the ways of their lathes to prevent wear and damage.
  9. Welcome to the forum, Arlen. Bunch of knowledgeable, good people here.
  10. That's some fantastic surgery you did here, the finished product speaks for itself. Beautiful pontiac. 👍👍
  11. The rear worked out great, and you don't have to build new arms. I'm going for mild hot rod version. The front is best lowered by moving the spindle up towards the control arm, the channeling doesn't gain a whole lot. I "pin" any connections like that for strength.
  12. Eye of mine can see you have set a difficult task to complete.
  13. I grew so tired of hearing about the shareholders in my previous line of work. They would somehow equate any problem, situation or concern into a shareholders concern. The " corporate speak" became nauseating.
  14. Not 100% if this fits a "sports car", my second generation gti was a blast to drive. I miss that car.
  15. I've never heard an owner speak badly on one, and I've driven a hot rodded older model(turbocharged) very fun car,and versatile platform is I understand.
  16. Good point, and that would certainly skyrocket the price. On occasion at work I've built small jib cranes and such. My boss has had an outside firm come in have them "certified", all plans have to signed off on by an engineer, and I'm sure the rating is with a heavy safety factor. I've seen my share of backyard rebuilding, bad frame repairs and such. I'm pretty certain Henry Ford forged those axles for a reason, castings are in my understanding, great in certain situations and not so much in others.
  17. Down right scary. It amazes me those COULD even be sold without some kind of testing or certification.
  18. I'm only in my mid forties, but the years of doing it beat you up and I feel it,too. Being reckless in my youth didn't help none, either.
  19. I hear that. they do have a way of keeping you on high alert coming apart. I'm cautious every time I do 'em. Struts too.
  20. That's a nice return on the investment, I hope.
  21. Great looking corvette.
  22. I hear that. The heat I handle, that thick heavy air is just no good.those days when you've flushed all the minerals out of your system with too much water are the worst. 86% humidity,no thanks.
  23. Looks awesome, and good luck with the move.👍👍
