Beautiful Charger, funny about the motor chain, my father's 68 dart had the same. Old school trick. It's a shame it was totaled on you, judging by your recreation. Fantastic underhood details. 👍👍

Wires for hoses and lines and stuff...
johnyrotten replied to Lionel's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
There is, depending on what the material is and the application of the wire, txl vs gxl. Pvc vs silicone ect. Part of the reason why scrounged wire is always hit or miss. -

Awesome mock up, I'd go with the padded seats, or add a chamfer to the holes to better resemble dimple die holes, that's just me. Looking forward to the progress on this one.

Nice work with the weathering, funny you mentioned the eye shadow. I've actually used that to add a metallic sheen on Mufflers and other parts,a suggestion from my wife. Thinking outside of the box sometimes goes a long way.- 6 replies

Next you'll use a micrometer as a precision c clamp.

Here's a few pictures of what I use that works. The cable is usb-c on both ends, the port i use most is 5v- 3 amp. Both ports can charge separate devices at the same time.

I have a Samsung phone. The charging cable is ubc-c. I've noticed certain "wall warts" do not supply the appropriate amperage to charge it at a reasonable rate. The "higher" amp plugs I've had no issue. Cheap chargers seem to be the culprit, and check for crud in the charging port.

Rolls-Royce No Chemicals, No Paint, No Harmful Glues
johnyrotten replied to Anglia105E's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That looks superb David. One tip I've picked up is just a touch of dawn dish soap in the water stops the paper from loading up,and let's it glide a bit easier. Something like one drop to a cup of water. -
Hi. New to this forum, not new to forums though :)

Great work with the torino, looks good. Welcome to the forum. -
I see that as a great idea, I had happened to have a pair of welders clamps in my hand and the light bulb went off..

I see these all the time at flea market's. I'll definitely grab a couple for the bench. Any thoughts on making some different shaped "feet" (removable) for different applications/areas?

You definitely have a great shine going on. That looks fantastic 👍👍 -
Vallejo model color black thinned with createx 4011. Very thin, with a #20 mini round brush. The surround of the grille is createx wicked black pearl, hand painted and cleared with a brush as well.

Rolls-Royce No Chemicals, No Paint, No Harmful Glues
johnyrotten replied to Anglia105E's topic in WIP: Model Cars
No better way to improve on a skill than to practice, especially when there is an interest involved. I myself like problem solving, alternative options to reach a conclusion or solution. More than one way to skin a cat,so to speak. Model kits are a series of small "problems" to figure out. Any BMF ive ordered has come directly from them(freshest supply), and I store mine in a large envelope in my pantry where it stays cool.(another trick I picked up here on the forum).
