    1966 Fairlane

Small update. After seeing the work of Randy D and John Tersi, I have lost motivation to even bother. Theyre work is a whole new level. But I know my limitations and I can never achieve what they can but I am still happy with my work I suppose.
  3. No offense to those who like modern day dodge cars and trucks but I would prefer to see kits done of vintage dodges. Not even just dodges actually. I would prefer them concentrate their attention on things that have never been done at all like the hudson that is coming soon. A 64 wildcat would be cool. Something different. Newer style cars just do not inspire me at all. Just my opinion.
  4. Chevrlote no, but Gm yes. Oldsmobile, Cadillac have one.
  5. Was not the original corvette a six cylinder car, when a V8 was already being produced by GM? I know corvette is a icon, but perhaps not as much a status symbol in years ahead, I predict. When kids see the rappers drive a maybach or a bently, perhaps thats what they will buy if they make good.
  6. Velour int ? Simply badass !!! Great job !!
  7. Check this out http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/08/05/dandelion-rubber.html Perhaps not new but new to me.
  8. Bout time. Always wondered why they can make 300+ horsepower from a 3 liter v6 but not 150 horsepower out from a 1 liter. Hopefully north americans will realize soon that 200+ horsepower is not nessesarry to propel a car and family to grocery store, soccer practice ect ect. Tremendous news for the auto industry in my opinion but there is another but I will begin a new thread for that.
  9. Do not think its because its a hacker doesnt think it is worth his/her time to make a virus for macs because there are not as many of them out there. Ratio of Pc to mac is 16 to 1 you say? Even is it was 50 to 1, there would still be tens of millions of macs worldwide. Macs are so much more expensive also, more common omong the upper middle class, so targeting them would be a tremendous opportunity to a hacker.
  10. Yes thank you. It is still usable. So I will wait
  11. It was dropped a few times. Thats probaly why. Totally my fault. I think the cost of shipping to and from badger headquarters would be astronomical. Half the price of buying a brand new one. I have a tube of silver stuff meant to fix small holes in exhaust pipes. You guys think thats will hold? The plating along that weld appears to be worn off. Bah I just read on the badger website that the head seal can only be tightened or loosened two or three times before it becomes worn out. It sure would be nice if they mentioned that on the packaging. I remove the head at least three times a month.
  12. I noticed today my badger airbrush has a leak. On the main body at the point where it is welded to the tube that connects to the hose. Is there a way to fix this? Perhaps with solder? Or wax? Thanks Jeff
  13. What kind of plastickote did you use ,the super enamel? Or the lacquer ? So far the best thing I have used is the testors gloss black enamel. The alclad primer seemed to me to be too thinned down and was drawing away from edges
  14. John Teresi, this thing looks top shelf. Please tell me what you are using for that small wires and tie wraps. Jeff
  15. The metal wire inside plastic paper clips works good too, easily bendable but holds shape
  16. Cant wait !!! This is gonna be badass !!! Leaving it a hardtop? Jeff
  17. Ah ok thats what I needed to know. That settles it then. Thank you
  18. So if I want to use paint from this can of "acrylic enamel", as a wash? What do I thin it down with? Water or mineral spirits ?
  19. So if alclad says that I need to use a enamel basecoat, they mean it can be applied to anything that is hard and durable?
  20. Iwas just wondering if somebody could explain the difference between this can of gloss black acrylic enamel duplicolor and a gloss black can of testors enamel. What I mean is acrylic enamel and enamel the same form of paint. I need to find something to replace these small testors cans for my alcading. Too much is wasted as I cannot seem to get the last bit out of the cans. Has anybody used acrylic enamel under alclad. I notice plasticote gloss black enamel in a big can. They make good primers, but not sure about theyre enamels. thnxs Jeff
  21. Wow that thing is badass !!!! Too bad we can barely see that beautifull motor.

    1966 Fairlane

Bah !!! A new problem. Is is just me or this engine seems to sit far too low and raising it will raise the tramsmission as well. Not right for the camshaft pulley to sit at the bottom of the radiator. No way the heads and manifolds will have room to fit as well. I suppose that explains why I had to carve out the sway bar to make the oilpan fit.

    1966 Fairlane

Some small update. Chassis was started and some other things.
  25. My next prodject. !966 Fairlane, made by AMT I believe. So far not much done. Still waiting for the warmth to do airbrushing. The front sway bars and strut rods were molded into one big chunk of plastic on the frame so I carved it out and made new bars. Also I was bored so I made my own shock absorbers and added a few details to the leaf springs. My plan is to paint the body black and interior will be tamiya deck tan. Jeff
