Amost finished. Just need to do some touchups. First time I used epoxy type glue and the stuff got everywhere even though I used gloves when I touched the tube or anything around it when I mixed it.Theres epoxy glue fingerprints everywhere that I had to polish down to become less noticeable. Also when the shell, interior and chassis were joined, the geometry of the front fenders changed and the front bumper then did not fit as it did before. I had to fight with it and rubbed some of the alclad off the edges. So I must touch that up too.The hood does not fit right anymore as well so I have to find a way to shave some off the sides without chipping pieces of paint off. I don't have anymore of that color so this scares me. I made one big mistake because the wheels are 1:24 scale and might look a little too big. Bah.
I am seeking information of any hobby shops in Scottsdale area. Last year I was at one on baseline road and went to another on southern but it was not there anymore. But hopefully there is something closer to north Scottsdale. Oops one more thing. What is Hobby lobby? I remeber seeing lots of those down there. Is that Arizona's version of michaels?
Thanks
Jeff
I think you should put a satin clear coat on the chassis . Looks a little too shiny. The choice of interior color is very bizarre but looks good. And the wood wheel looks very good from what i can tell. But other than that its looking great. Very clean. You will wetsand the color coats?

Never seen the real car so I cannot appreciate the ability of others to see the imperfections but in my opnion, this kit will be badass !!! No matter how unaccurate it is. Its different and correct me if I am wrong but the only non-big three vintage american car that has been made into a model kit . It certianly looks like the best made anyway. Now if only somebody from Moebius is reading this. What about a muntz jet next.

Mr cranky. Saw this in a video I whatched about building diaramas. The man used something called marmite in place of the hairspray.

I think bare metal foil is the best thing for small things like that. But if you use the alunimum, get some of this.
Bottle says it can be watered down. Don't. Use dry brush or it will be too runny and pool up. I have used the spray adhesive before but I sprayed it into a bottle cap and brushed it on. Worked better for me.
Has anybody built the resin 1961 cadillac coupe? And if so, is there any issues with it? I have seen it on the modelhouse website. I believe its the same one that Mr. Obsessive built but he has not been online in quite some time.
Thanks

For next time, there is a easy way to fix those wires, drill holes in the middle of the boots on the valve covers. I think a size 77 is what I use. So already have the holes , I assume so drill deeper right thru the head and into the block if you have to. Then just push or pull the wires to get them into position. Should not even need to use glue. Might not be too late to do this with your engine.

perhaps just make both surfaces flat with a small file. And It is best to glue a small piece of plastic to the inside of either the fender or bumper. Don't glue the bumper directly to the fender or the glue will ooze out and ruin it.
Don't think aunt edna would be caught dead in anything with at best a split bench but nonetheless, cool car. And refreshing to see a non-gto a-body.

Back when daimler owned chrysler, Mercedes was producing cars similar to this..
True hardtop, slick styling, but none of this found its way to the chrysler products. They really dropped the ball when they made the charger into a four door sedan. Not even a good looking four door in my opinion. They should take notes from Audi, who knows how to make a sedan look good.
I bought a bottle of alclad black primer. I am not sure if it has been changed. It is now in a smaller plastic bottle, not glass and I beleive that it doesn't react the same. It seems to be too thin and pulls away from the slightest edge. Anyybody else experience problems with this stuff?
