I have absolutely have no idea of this FOMO/ YOLO you speak of.... Just kidding.., I totally get it. I finally scored a resin kit that I have had my eyes on since it was released in 2003/2004(?). But, I just didn't have the financial means to justify the cost.. until now. And it's been out of production for... well...*years*. And literally*nobody* wants to let go of it if they have them. I've had this kit on my "notification" list for quite a while, and I jumped at the opportunity.

@Bronzekeg Outstanding build! Would like to get a link to the build thread as well!

Once again, burned by my cavalier 'I'll buy a couple of those next time' attitude.... 😩

I believe Norm is no longer making the Ferrari engine. I inquired about purchasing one via an email exchange about 6(?) months ago. I can't seem to find his response stating that it's no longer available however, so maybe I'm imagining it?

I'm not into the 'patina' look yet, but that looks good. Good enough that it made me wonder when my last Tetanus shot was... 😆

My dad taught me this back when I was a lazy dead-a$$ teenager, when he realized I was cutting corners on my chores. It seems to be even *more* relevant now than it was back in the 80’s. It doesn't matter if you are pushing papers, cleaning a toilet or working a trade job. Your name is attached..in some form...to literally every task you do, paid or unpaid. Quality will always matter, and in every capacity. The smart folks are willing to pay *a lot* of money for good, lasting quality products, and a 'handle it' work ethic. And as a bonus.. it's job security to always give 100% when you punch in on that time-clock(most of the time). When COVID hit, I was fueling commercial aircraft. Only 4 of us continued working, the lazy employees got laid off.

I have checked that website repeatedly over the last two months. Reached out to see if he was still taking orders (based on his posting of life events) and recieved no response. Unless someone states otherwise, it appears to me that he's no longer in business? -
Thanks for the update @dave branson... I'll definitely make it a priority to get up there.
-
I need to get up there soon and catch up with him..

@dave branson Thanks for the photos. There are several there that must have snuck in while I was checking out the vendors. I really wish we had a dedicated scale auto modeling club here in OKC. @meechum68 Royal? I haven't been up there to his shop in prob 10+ years(?). I hope he's doing well.. Best hobby shop in the state.

If only I knew someone with a metal brake... 😩 -
I'm basically doing same, but with the exception of using a thick foamboard. I tried to use the much thinner foamboard that was provided in my 'kit' but it is very susceptible to warping depending on the environment. Also in the process of obtaining various shop tool/ equipment. I'll be following, so I'm looking forward to your next post. Thanks for sharing.

T700 Engine Info – Is There a Model Kit Out There?
SpeedAndViolence replied to Potaka's topic in WIP: Dioramas
@Potaka I had no prior knowledge of it, until a fellow modeler presented his recent purchase, and provided the link. I have also seen video's on YouTube of their unboxing and assembly. I have no experience with purchasing. I have more than enough kits to keep me busy for the foreseeable future. Maybe if you go to YouTube and do a search on T700 scale model, you might find something. -
Looking good!

@Potaka Me and a few other airplane geeks were checking these out a while back. Glad I could help.
