  1. I see that I need to some updates, but also some catch up. I'm holding off on anymore cars displayed in the junkyard, as things are changing as I add more to the yard. Here are some more photos from the inside. The next thing that has transpired, is that this diorama is no longer a sensible 4 feet by 4 feet. It has now grown another 8 feet longer, giving it a size of 4 feet by 12 feet, as evidenced in the next photo. The expansion allows me to bring in another subject to add interest. That being a roadside gas station with a simple garage. The junkyard will still expand on behind the gas station. That garage is simply a place holder for now. I will build a garage to suit the space. The gas station is a tribute to a station that an uncle of mine managed when I was young. It was a place where guys hung out and enjoyed the cool cars that came through.
  2. That is sharp. I do hope that you hide the keys though. I'm sure the 1/25 scale people sneak out at night, while you're sleeping, and drag race it.
  3. That is a total class automobile, and you captured it masterfully.
  4. This is a beautiful model of one of the most elegant cars ever made. As with your hardtop, thanks for using the white walls.
  5. You nailed this one. Thanks for using the white walls. They give it class.
  6. One day it rains so hard that you can't work in the junkyard. The next day it's so foggy that you can't find the junkyard. At least when it clears up, everything will be nice and clean to work on.
  7. The junk yard gets a couple new cars. The first is a 1957 Ford, and the second is a 1955 Chevrolet. I'd started working on the Ford first, but while looking for parts, I found the Chevy in pieces in a parts bin. I roughly tacked it together and weathered it as a forgotten either race car or custom project, now long abandoned.
  8. That is beautiful
  9. This one is reay to go out and sling some dirt on the 1/2 mile ovals of the midwest...
  10. This is a little something I threw together, just for the fun of it. It's a 1951 Chevrolet 2 door hardtop with a 348-3 deuce sitting under the hood... Tamara takes some photos as a couple of mechanics work on the engine. Harold and Sippie get the honors of introducing it to the lot.
  11. The yellow hues with green accents were very popular in that era, and I had a fondness for them. I am totally digging that one.
  12. That is neato keen! Sorry, I couldn't resist. I love it.
  13. That is one of the best examples of this kit that I've ever seen. I really wish that the next time they release it that they would include the full wheel covers.
  14. I always loved that kit, and you did a great job on it.
  15. That is beautiful.
  16. I seem to be a little behind on my updates. Here are some photos of what I've accomplished so far; The 'new' wrecker is complete, and I have ramps to both the automotive and personal doors. I also have several cars weathered/detailed, and set in place. I've also 'planted' some trees and done some other scenery. I'm giving the setting as the area behind the garage is the oldest area, and as one works towards the front, new entries will be encountered.
  17. That is it exactly. You will love it.
  18. Technically, this build would go under a separate section, but because it is part of the diorama, I'll be placing it here. The wrecker for the junk yard will come from this Ford C-900 kit. The Ford C-Cab series ran from 1958 to 1991, and I will be representing the latter few years. I will also present it as a vehicle that served a completely different industry be fore becoming a junkyard wrecker. The color that I've chosen is gun metal gray. At this point, I've removed the chrome and painted most chassis parts flat black. I've also scuffed the tires, some to a degree that they are needing replacement. There's not much to show yet, but I will update you as progress continues.
  19. I wish somebody would bring that kit back. I remember building it when I was a youth. Thanks for the great memories.
  20. That is a beautiful build of one of the most beautiful cars ever produced.
  21. That little bucket totally kicks!
  22. Words elude me as to your amazing creation. Mr. Barris would be quite honored.
