1972 Ford F100 replica build possible
meechum68 replied to gtx6970's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
So I saw this thread and ended up buying a kit today because .. well these old fords are awesome trucks! Plus your truck your doing is beautiful! That paint is fantastic @gtx6970 -
So hit my favorite shop in Vegas, Hobby Island .. small but I like it. I had to stock up on my blue paint so got some variety, will have to ship the Spray home via Fed Ex or UPS though cuz I can't fly it home. The bottles will go under plane. I may grab some nippers and knife, and glue and primer and a few more colors to work on something in the evenings while I am in Vegas. One of the benefits of work travel, I get to buy stuff from all over the US lol.

Thanks everyone! It was my first time dechroming too so I was very thrilled with the paint on the bumpers and wheels. I don't hate it, but I do think with some weathering, it will help round it out.

Welcome! Neat kit!

Wicked Mustang!!

Thanks! Tbh, turned out better than expected. Didn't see the wheel well issue til the end so yeah. But was a build of patience.

Fantastic work! I wrapped up a bugger of a kit. So now I have a Datsun street truck and the Fairlane I have a post about on my bench. This will sit for a bit while I am out of town for work, then when I get back, I will start a 63 Chevy Impala and one of my Vicky's. I should focus on one, but 4 .. 4 is good for now....

So this is the famous .. MPC kit that has it's share of issues. I did what I could to make it decent, and without further ado:

This .. is ... done .. I just didn't have it in me to do a radiator, and add the battery. It's sitting on my car hauler trailer and one day I will pull it off the trailer and do some weathering and add the radiator and battery. This kit needs a ton of love and patience, it's done, and overall turn out.. not shabby but not great, somewhere in between. (Just noticed I slipped the tire on the mustang, gonna have to fix that.)

And that would be terrible

That paint is .. bitchin!! Following this!
