  1. Darin, just wondering what you mean by "correct"sbc? Not sure when that style of rod came into vouge.Im at a loose with the fenders, but if those wheels were avalible in '65 a bbc could be correct, even a 289 ford could be correct.A big inch olds ,or a early hemi could fit in with that look also.
  2. I'b buy one in 1/25Looks like a bit of a copy cat of limefire from the late 80's. same colour, wheels and b&m blower
  3. has a model company ever made a mistake?,according to the expert modelers on the web the answer is almost always. Great build Nick
  4. got any details?I only know of the short 4200 and the long er 4300.
  5. Glad to see this one finished.Built to your typical excellent building style
  6. Well,I'm in that 5%.Kinda still leary about the whole on line thing.I also live in a rual cummunity and have to drive 20-30 miles to get to any shopping centres and such.So when I'm in the big smoke I'll pay a visit to the LHS.We just got a wallmart 10 minutes away last month ,but that doesn't help too much in the hobbie.Plus I've noted that alot of venders wont ship to canada, not sure what it is to them,I'd be paying the shipping.Paint cant be mailed, and we have the stupid law that french must be printed on the label ,thats a factor also
  7. turner out well
  8. 13% thanks to my Ontario leaders. Its called HST (harminized sales tax)a federal and provincial tax all rolled into one Ive never bought on line, try to keep the few remaining shops in buissness, but I'm gonna do a modelexpress order soon
  9. Nick i'm changing my build ,wasn't feeling the nomad. Gonna do a '55 cameo instead, getting at the first step of sanding and trimming the plastic right now
  10. Hey, I was just joining the discussion just like you and every other poster. Thank you ever soooooo much for pointing out my spelling mistakes. Picture in your imagination a "The Simpsons" starting credts ,with me standing at the black board...... I will use a capital letter when I spell Revell and start a sentence. I will remember the there, their,or they're rule from grade 4 I will spell negative and opinion correctly. over and over again. As stated before this was a massive marketing idea for the people at Revell. How many people saw the show when it was announced and said to them selves" I'm going go buy a model and enter, haven't built one in years" Congratulations to all winners, especially the members here that entered. I'm planning on going and entering my first model show next month, not to win,but to have fun with the hobby and to check out some of the expertly finished models like my grammar teacher must build. That my friend was taking a shot, not my original post
  11. Nick,I'll join in with a 55 nomad
  12. why all the negitve opions about revell and there winners.sour grapes?

  14. Lets see is something good comes of this.I voted for some contemperary stuff
  15. I think its got alot to do with what syle of car it is.Some guys like tuners, some guts like full fender 30's cars, others like like 50's cruisers
  16. engine just about finished.twin turbo, with twin after coolers from 40 ford rads and scratch built plumbing. Now picking away at the chassis
  17. Well,I finally made it to a meeting tonight.Next time I'll plan better and bring a couple things for you guys to see
  18. Dennis, what about rubbing it with some car wax type cleaner, alcohol or maybe fingernail polish remover. you could also try just rubbing it of with your thumb. This seems to be a pure expermental type thing, try different stuff on an old cab
  19. Im thinking a truck like Tim showed needs a heavy duty fender because of the weight of all the mud that could build up under them.Fiberglass wouldn't take it. Here a link to factory gmc general pit fenders http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_brochures/gmc/gmc_general_1980/scan0025.html
  20. your effort is rewarded with a great looking model.Well done
  21. that engine reminds me of the old international 4 banger made from a 8.Half of a 454,a LS3.5 227 cid maybe
