  1. That picture shows up quite blurry here, but it looks like it says "something" Components, Inc.......I can't make out the "something" part, lol. I'll try to find a better pic.
  2. Anybody know what this sticker is?
  3. Well, I'm an old musclecar kinda guy, but I like it! And you say it doesn't have the flower holder? Wow, now I want one. I could actually get a discount through the company I work for, but it doesn't matter....I can't afford a new car anyway.
  4. Wow....that turned out great! Excellent decal skills!
  5. Oh, there is, its just more profitable not to.
  6. I missed #16, but I don't think I'm wrong.....3 seconds is NOT enough following distance. If you're running 70 and you're 3 seconds behind someone and they suddenly slam on brakes.....crunch.
  7. Thanks, y'all! I was trying not to "over-weather". When I've seen them down here at our local track (Dixie Speedway), they're suprisingly clean after a race....the only thing that seems to get dirty are the tires! I'm sure there's differences at different tracks, though.
  8. I think you should...
  9. Yes, I'm a member there, but haven't posted anything in such a long time that I'll probably have to sign up again. Ron Royston, that posted those beautiful vintage "skeeters", runs that site.
  10. Finished this one awhile back, but I'm just now getting around to taking pictures. Energy Release sponsored car driven by Joe Gaerte in the late 90s/early 2000s. I believe Dale Blaney also drove this car for awhile. Revell kit, Slixx decals.
  11. Hey, guys, if you go back to the beginning, John said this would be built HIS way, in the same paint scheme as the Bobby Allison Matador, and WOULD NOT BE accurate or correct. Now, if he said it would be an accurate replica of the real thing, well........ Trivia....did y'all know that when Roger Penske started running AMC Matadors in Nascar, they were the first cars to run disc brakes?
  12. Chuck, if his did, its not the only one....the Nova dirt car I'm presently building started out as the Rat Packer kit...
  13. If you are anywhere near an Ace Hardware, their "Wrought Iron Black" is a nice sheen of semi-gloss black, almost perfect for suspension pieces and inner fenders. It's pretty hot though, so its best to use a primer first. Another option is to keep a can of Model Master Semi-Gloss Clear lacquer handy.....it can turn flat black into one shade of semi-gloss, and gloss black into yet another. I know the can says lacquer, but I've sprayed it over almost anything with no problems.
  14. Insurance companies don't care how much something is selling for. Like Harry says, you'll be lucky to get much. My guess would be $500. If the frame isn't bent TOO bad, they make all kinds of cool kits that use an S10 chassis as a base.....32 Fords, 41 Willys.....
  15. Ohhhh.....I can't wait! I'm SURE this one will be nice. Thats my favorite year of Thunderbird too.
  16. I agree! Shes VERY good, and thats a great choice to sing as well!
  17. Don't know where Drew got his, but You can get some from FRED'S. I'm working on a '64 Chevy II late model and using a bunch of his stuff.
  18. Thank you.....just tried it and that seems to work! And believe me, if the parts I needed were commercially available, I'd just buy 'em!
  19. I occationally cast a few small bits and pieces for my own use. So far, I've only done this using simple one-piece molds. Now, I need to cast a few parts that will require two-piece molds. My second attempt was successful, and the part actually looked great, no pinholes or anything. The problem, however, was the clay. This stuff was a real pain to remove. All the "how-to" videos I've seen, it just peels right away, slick as a whistle. Not so with me, it gets stuck in all the nooks and crannies....my first attempt at this mold I just threw away because I couldn't get all the clay out. Second go-round wasn't much better (see picture), but I finally got it so I could work with it after picking with toothpicks and knives and stuff all morning. Am I doing this right? Am I using the right type of clay? Would putting it in the freezer for awhile help? This can't be normal....or can it? Thanks, guys!!

  21. I honestly don't know for sure, but somebody had a post about that here not too long ago. It seems (according to whoever it was) that water works just as well as Zip Kicker, but without the wonderful perfumy smell. I've been meaning to try it, but I.....well, I forget stuff.
  22. THAT is georgous!!!
  23. Very cool project, and I'll be watching too. I really love those ol' Triumphs. My best friend in middle school had a big brother that owned a TR6, and I guess I just developed a soft spot for them.
