  1. I heard plain ol' water works.
  2. I think I see the problem. You have too many at one time. The solution is simple. Send ME that Munsters Tin and everything will balance out nicely. You're welcome, and I'm glad I could be of help.
  3. If you're really ambitious, you could make a quick mold by pressing the lenses into some Milliput, then cast new ones in clear casting resin, but the way Aaron suggested looks better in scale than really having them clear.
  4. Yes, I'll be watching this one too. Maybe I can learn something.
  5. Yes. You can use Future over ANYTHING. Acrylics, Lacquers, Enamels, HOK, Artists Oil Paints, Shoe Polish......you name it.
  6. Nice! That rear end set-up is awesome. The only thing I see wrong is the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
  7. I actually saw a time machine for sale online awhile back. The ad said it really worked. You dialed in whatever year you wanted to go back to, then put this metal band that was connected to 110 volts around your head and tuned it on. It was only 500 bucks. I decided to pass, so they might still have it.
  8. I second what George said. I'm sitting here as we speak holding one of Kris's Turbo 350s....absolutley perfect! If I need a specific transmission for a project, I'd rather order one of Kris's than dig through my parts box looking for one!
  9. I also have to agree with Dave. It's totally feasable. Remember, these cars don't need the "shock strength" of a drag racing transmission.....they just need to be able to stay together at top speed and have low internal friction.
  10. Future will work over anything.
  11. Depending on the configuration, you could use a lot of different transmissions, including the Hewland. A lot of streamliners use transaxles made by Weisman (I think thats right?) that are very similar to an Indy car or F-1 transaxle, so see what they have. If you're going to have a driveshaft/rear end setup, a Jerico or something like that should be ok. Dig around HERE awhile, maybe you'll find something that will help.
  12. This one is from MANY moons ago, built back in the 90's. Nascar driver Bill Elliott used to have a Ford dealership in Dahlonega GA, and each year that particular dealership would sell a limited number of "Bill Elliott Signature Edition" Thunderbirds, that were dealer modified with body panels, spoilers, and special paint. A friend of mine had an '87 version and asked me to build a model of it. Monogram Turbo T-bird with scrachbuilt grille, ground effects, and 8 hole wheels. Engine is from a Mustang kit. Gold pinstripes are from a model railroad decal sheet.
  13. Thanks once again, everybody. Thanks!!! Thats a good idea. I looked at that AMT/Ertl bumper briefly and the lights in it appeared to be about the same size as the Revell '69....but then again, I didn't measure it, I just glanced at it. I'll check it more closely when I get home. Robert, where in the world have ya been? Good to see ya again! I miss coming by your shop. Hope all is going good for ya!
  14. They even mix scales! Last years truck was a 1/32ish truck with a 1/60ish scale airplane! But no matter....Hess trucks are cool no matter what scale.
  15. Back in 2008, Stephen Chu said we need to find a way to triple the price of gas to match what they pay in Europe. After the Presidential election, Mr. Obama appointed Stephen Chu as our energy secratary. The price has since doubled. Will it triple? We'll see if your statement holds true.
  16. I don't think scale plays a factor in Hess trucks. Some are around 1/32, some are bigger. My boys get one every Christmas, though.
  17. Thats GOTTA be the coolest airbrush holder I've ever seen! Oh...the model ain't too bad either.
  18. Thanks again, Y'all. You know, I wasn't even aware of that! Thanks for pointing that out, I need to pay more attention, but then again, some things might be above my skill level to fix. I want to build a model of my first brand new car, a '72 Nova SS, using this kit, and was trying to think of a way to fix the parking lights, but I might just have to live with it. Only pic is during the build....its just a few pieces of styrene glued together.....
  19. Personally, I would go with what looks right to the eye.
  20. I'm no expert, but I don't think wheelie bars started showing up till the late 60's. Watch someone prove me wrong!
  21. I always try to include links, but playing devil's advocate, if someone tells you they got it at Bill's Mini Modeling, why can't you do THIS ?
  22. I thought they were gerbils........
  23. And before anybody says it, we ain't talking about THIS kind of "soul"...
  24. Ask and you shall recieve........... This is from Drop Top Customs in High Springs FL. As far as the "new car" vs "old car" thing.....Yes, new cars are more efficient, more powerful, more comfortable, and much safer, but they ain't got no "soul"......
