  1. I think someone else was working on one here recently , they were going to render it in 3d printing then cast in resin but it sounded very cost prohibitive .
  2. I was thinking the same thing , also the soldering and brazing and maybe the measuring one . I bet the setting up a workshop has some good stuff .
  3. I thought they looked interesting I just was wondering where to start.
  4. Is anyone familiar with this series of books ? I saw one about photoetching and then discovered there are 40 + books in the series which cover all kinds of home workshop techniques .Just wondering If they are worth hunting down and which ones might be of particular interest to plastic automotive builders.
  5. I'd cut the cab right behind the door first then the back cab wall . If you have the patience don't cut straight across the roof but cut out a tab so you have more gluing surface and rigidity also I would recommend using acrylic fingernail filler (located in the nail polish section) for the adhesive this stuff dries hard and strong perfect for this type of work. Once the cab is done figure out where to cut the interior tub then the chassis. for cutting the body I'd use the back of an xacto blade takes a long time but worth the effort . the interior and chassis you can use a saw because the cuts won't be that visible .
  6. man maybe I should have thought harder those are all rock solid ^^^^^
  7. Revell 32 ford with stock parts not to build it stock but to build earlier hot rods Monogram 40 ford pickup with stock parts or original release parts any pickup with new 4x4 suspension and or off road wheels any kit that includes those fun little non automotive items like dirt bikes ,tools , figures , bicycles etc.
  8. I mean, honestly there are several mini bikes available in kits that can be found for reasonable money . Monograms Vandal has one and it is currently available. I'd like to see you finish scratch building this mini bike but don't do it with intent to sell just build it for yourself .
  9. Cool truck . washes are a great technique , sometimes black isn't always the way to go . You can also darken the body color or lighten depending on the situation . not saying this would be the case here but just try it out . I like this model it builds up great another technique to try on this one would be to sand the back of the grille to open up the teeth .
  10. I think I saw one of these back in '85 in front of the twin pines mall . It was like 1 a.m.
  11. What's not to like .
  12. That is a really cool effect.
  13. Looks cool , I'd go broke before I ran out of ideas for this .
  14. This looks cool! hurry up and update .
  15. Looks like you've got some good ideas for building .
  16. I thought they were pretty cool with my hot wheels . you can still find them reasonably priced . If they were rereleased id probably pick them up .
  17. I knew the millennium falcon was the coolest space ship ever.
  18. I look forward to seeing this progress. Out of curiosity why scratch build an available body style for your first build ?
  19. Sorry to hear , my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
  20. Opel GT I vividly recall climbing from the drivers front seat to the back seat the white seats with the perforations stand out for some reason I was 2 or 3 years old . No idea why this would stick with me . 1977 Seville my first car . Shelby Daytona coupe just my favorite car .
  21. That is pretty cool. The display looks great .There is something about the styling of these that I just like .I wonder where those molds are.
